Its my favorite time of the year but this time its a bit different since the Flyers wont be in it for the first time in 13 years. But i will still watch since there is nothing like Playoff hockey.

I know we got some hockey fans here so what you guys think. here is the playoff matchups which begin tomorrow night

Western Conference
(1) Detroit vs (8) Calgary
(2) Anaheim vs (7) Minnesota
(3) Vancouver vs (6) Dallas
(4) Nashville vs (5) San Jose

Eastern Conference
(1) Buffalo vs (8) NY Islanders
(2) New Jersey vs (7)Tampa Bay
(3) Atlanta vs (6) NY Rangers
(4) Ottawa vs (5) Pittsburgh

I think the Sabres dont have the size and strength to make it all the way to the finals. From the East i think Senators or Devils could make a run.

Out of the West i hate to say it but its gonna be a city who shouldnt even have a team. Sharks Ducks or Preds could do it.

What i want to happen is Senators vs Canucks for the cup. Two teams from Canada where you know ppl care about hockey. Plus a Canadien team hasnt won the cup since 93 when the Canadiens won it

Wow, I'm in the Sports section. Anyways, I'm rooting for Sens all the way since I'm from Ottawa. I can't remember if they won their game against Pittsburgh two weeks ago or not. I hope they can pull through to the semis!

exactly....

as i'm sure you all know i'm a huge pens fan... but Fleury scares me.... during the playoffs, you need good goaltending and Fleury has been very inconsistent all year.... he'll make tremendous saves then turn around and let up a 30 ft goal from the point with no redirect or traffic.... but i'm going with the Pens in 6 for that series... they'll take the first game, lose the next one, win both at home, drop the away game and clinch it at home

I still think buffalo is too strong and too deep to not win the east.... especially since they've got a lot of healthy players back now
I think the coaching change might hurt jersey. Even Brodeur can be rattled and the devils haven't been clicking with offense
I predict tampa as an upset for the first round

From the west i like the Preds to make it through, but vancouver may have a shot because luongo is playing like a man possessed this year...
However you can't count out the ducks as they've been on a tremendous hot streak through march...

I say Buffalo vs Nashville for the Stanley cup finals

If Nashville beats San Jose, they have a chance to go all the way, but that first round is a tough matchup for them...

I have a feeling the Devils are gonna do really well in the playoffs, I would like to see Ottawa be the rep of the eastern conference over everyone else though. From the west I think its gonna be Detroit but I'd like to see a bottom seeded team go all the way like Calgary or Minnesota, I just doubt that will happen.

wow its the end of the first between Pens and Sens and Pittsburgh looks even more nervous than i expected.... even the veterans have stiff hands... pucks are bouncing everywhere and Ottawa is coming at them full bore

yeah.... pens got lit the fuck up.... almost looked like philly out there

i wish the sharks/preds game was on somewhere.... they need to sell a discounted nhl center ice package just for the playoffs.... like $30 to get all playoff games

looking forward to the stars/canucks game tonight too, but i'll probably fall asleep during the 2nd period

MAN!!!! With 1:24 left in the 4th OT it was Daniel Sedin hitting the post then getting the puck back and sending a pass to his brother Henrik to score the winning goal. That was awesome. It ended about 3:30 in the morning.
