Figure I'd start a thread on this. Anyone interested in any particular event? I think swimming is always pretty exciting. But sometimes, I'm surprised as to what is the hit to me like for the winter Olympics, curling was the shit yo.

I've always liked the Winter Olympics more for Hockey, Skiing, and Curling for the last 8 years or so I guess.

The summer really does nothing to me, I hate watching people run. Swimming should be pretty interesting, I remember last Summer Olympics watching Phelps swim up at hollywood one night. OO ES AY basketball should be pretty good, Coach K has these guys pretty well trained to play together, I've watched pretty much every exhibition game on so far. Hopefully they can hold up against good teams because beating Canada and Turkey by 40 really isn't saying much haha.

I'd like to watch judo and fencing but I don't think they'll get much coverage. I always liked diving too. I'd want to watch tennis too but Olympic tennis just doesn't have the same appeal as the regular Grand Slams.

Is no one else watching this? The opening ceremony was pretty ridiculous. They were doing some pretty crazy stuff but I kind of lost interest. I'm watching the US team walk in now.

I was watching the Eagles game. The Summer Olympics do nothing for me.

Yeah, I don't know how much I will be following it. I don't remember watching much of it in 2004. Just some swimming and diving. It does look good in HD though.

The best part of it is that they keep showing shots of Bush and he looks pretty bored. I think he just wants to go back to the hotel.

I think I just like watching all these different countries walking and carrying their flags. Some of these countries are so small.

Michael Phelps taking home the gold yet again and shattering the world record in the 400m IM. That man is ridiculous. And the Chinese are also ridiculous in gymnastics. Those guys are so built. They are just solid blocks of muscle.

That mens 400M relay was insane. USA was trailing by about half a body-lenght with half the length of the pool to go and the announcers were like "Looks like USA will get a solid silver out of this." Then the dude turned it on, pulled even, and reached out quicker than France. Took the gold by .08 of a second. The top 3 or 4 teams all beat the previous world record.

I watched more Summer Olympics yesterday then I have my whole life. I woke up early enough to catch USA vs China live, they fucking killed them at the end. But goddamn 2 chinese players were just setting up and banging 3's like their lives depended on it.

I watched a ton of Gymnastics last night, Volleyball, BADMINTON hahaha, and handball was on. I don't know if Comcast offers it but Verizon threw in about 6 HD olympic channels all over the place. NBC, USA, Universal HD, and 3 at the end of the 800's.

that was awesome. i got really fired up when i read that french quote, and i was like "ok if we at least come in second i'll be happy." but then we pulled it out like that at the end and totally stole form those pricks. i dont know a god damned thing about swimming but i got pumped.

i used to fence, and i wanted to see some of that. however they never show it at a normal time.

I didn't catch the fencing either. Supposedly the US women's team is dominant in that. The girl that got gold is pretty cute.

I didn't catch the 400m relay. I wish I had now. I watched a lot of the other meets though. I saw Phelps take the 400IM. Swimming is pretty intense. Those guys are ridiculously fast. I watched a little of the basketball. The US was blowing the Chinese away so I turned to beach volleyball. I enjoyed watching that. I also caught a little bit of archery. That was pretty cool. The target is so far away they're hitting the bullseye 75% of the time. The one chick almost hit the camera that's in the center of the bullseye. The Koreans were wrecking house. That's supposed to be really big over there.
