After I said I wasn't gonna get caught up in the hype of the race, I decided to throw some cash on it today and see what happens. If anyone is interested, I did the following picks:

ChurchHill Downs (Race 10 - 2,000,000 Purse)

Don't forget to BOX your picks:
$2 Trifecta: (12 dollar total bet)

Big Brown
Colonel John
Adriano

$1 Superfecta: (24 dollar total bet)

Big Brown
Colonel John
Adriano
Denis of Cork

$1 Superfecta: (24 dollar total bet)

Big Brown
Court Vision
Colonel John
Adriano

Jeff we should just walk to derelict-ville, its like 2 blocks away. The Turfclub will have all the finest gentlemen there today.

I use this site each year for the derby:

http://www.allhorseracing.com

You have to sign up for an account though. Once you log on:

- Click Racebook, then you'll see a bunch of races.
- Select ChurchHill Downs race 10. It'll have the 2,000,000 Purse.
- Then you fill out the kind of bets you wanna do whether straight up, exacta, trifecta, etc.

I'd rather get hammered in the parking lot for the Phillies game then go there. It's gonna be insane at the Turf Club today. All the scum will be out and about.

Icabad Crain, How much better of a name for a horse is there than that. He's going on at 20-1 (actually the third best odds believe it or not) and me and Vino are considering throwing 50 bucks at him. How great would it be to celebrate Johns wedding with an extra grand after a $50 bet.

Of corase it's not good when Icabad's trainer comes out and says. "I don't know who can beat this hores."
Also when a reporter started a question with "It's been 30 years since ..." the trainer cut him off and said "It was 30 years"

Not exactlly full of confidence. But still, can't go wrong with a name like that. Anyone have thoughts on the race?

If your looking for the upset, now is the time to pick it. I don't think Big Brown is gonna take it.

Yea I saw he was third but I can't find one site that is picking anyone but big Brown to win. No money to be made at 2-5 odds.

The odds went down to 18-1. I got in now before everyone jumps on the Icabad Crain TRAIN.

I finally found someone who said he has a shot. Check out this read.
http://www.betus.com/sports-betting/200 ... 11703.aspx

Here's how it ends. "Are these reasons good enough for Icabad Crane to turn the tables on his own headless horseman nightmare that is Big Brown? Maybe not, but for those looking to make some off track betting green and upset the Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner, Icabad Crane is definitely a live long-shot."

Another boost of confidence from the trainer:

“I think somehow Big Brown has to stub his toe for any of us to beat him (in the Belmont), but there is a chance of that happening,” said Motion. “Obviously, we’re all looking to beat him, and we all realize that’s going to be a tall order, and it would be great to get a piece of it if we can’t beat him.”

hahahah

The trainer is just setting a trap. Crain is bringing home the goods.

So far, these are all the individuals aboard the CRAIN TRAIN:

Me - 50 to win 900
Bull & Vino - 60 each to win 1080 each
Ryan - 20 to win 360

Just heard on Espnews that Casino Drive, the horse many are picking to threaten Big Brown has a bruised left hoof. Could be good for our boy IcaBAD Crain.

BTW, our odds are LOCKED in so what I have posted is what we will be paid if Crane wins. The odds will change during race day and as I told Ryan I expect the odds for Crane to be more along the lines of 8 or 10-1, possibly lower now that Casino Drive has a slight injury.

Oh baby, the Derby is today. I'll probably end up missing the race because I'll be at the Phils game as long as it doesn't rain. I want Revenge was an early favorite, but has been SCRATCHED:

http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/horse/ ... id=4126424

I personally like Dunkirk (4-1) or Friesan Fire (5-1) to win it all. These odds will definately change come race time.

Well here's what I ended up taking for 3 trifecta's: (All bets are BOXED)

Friesan Fire / Pioneer of the Nile / Desert Party

Friesan Fire / Dunkirk / Pioneer of the Nile

Friesan Fire / General Quarters / Pioneer of the Nile

We'll see what happens.
