Personally I think its a good read and shows my anger towards people who trace their art...fuck em.

Good read, Stillies. I thought Nick was kind of funny on Family Jewels but hell after this, he's just another little punk. I can't draw very well, but I never trace! I thought his comic didn't really look that good. It looked like.. internet quality comic, not paper comic.

There is nothing wrong with tracing or copying someones work. That is, unless you're selling it. I mean, you gotta learn from somewhere, and you generally learn from the things you're inspired from. In 8th grade, I devoted an entire sketch book to copying pictures of Chrono Trigger characters out of Nintendo Power and the Instruction Manual.

This guy however, this is bad. I can't believe he expected to get away with reusing so much material. I don't think he "traced" directly over it, but he stole it for certain. Him stealing from the Bleach fan art was pretty awesome too. That may have been my favorite.

I'm glad this happened to a punk like him. He's 21 years old, has had everything in life handed to him, I doubt he has any real true art background (that said, his drawings aren't absolutely terrible, there is some potential in there outside of his lack of a true vision) and it's obvious the only reason he has a comic book deal is thanks to his Dad. I'm glad he got shit from people on FB and thought his comments back to them were hilarious. I also loved when he said he talked to his Dad and he told him he had a "real case" against those people. HAHAHAHAHAHH.

I doubt his comic career is over though. Keep us up to date on this one Stillies, it's interesting.

yeah my favorite part is that he said his dad told him to sue people whose comments he didnt like hahahha

hahaha yeah...I agree that its cool to trace things here and there and you can do whatever you want when its not a paying job, but it seriously pisses me off when all these talented artists out there are just dying to be noticed while assholes who steal others work have paying jobs in the business.

Ahahahaha what a moron, I have no idea why he's even copying. You don't exactly make a fortune off of comics so why do it if you're not doing your own art and being happy with it?

He also stole this and used it in his book. I mean this is just straight up stealing.

there's no reason to give him the benefit of the doubt, he was directly plagiarizing and stealing the artwork from kubo/bleach, he knew what he was doing, it wasn't fucking homage, he made that obvious by being a little dick and trying to weasel out of it. I understand fan art and homage, but when you actually steal someone's art and claim it as your own, even multiple times is disgraceful, and then to take it to another level as to sell it? That's just sad.
