I was browsing through the latest issue of Time this morning and I was reading this article. It's really interesting

http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,2048138,00.html

It's about the exponential pace of technology development and how by 2045, we should have super computers that are smarter than all of the human race combined. It's a good read. I highly recommend it. Perhaps some good discussion will come about this.

Then you can read this a feel a little better.

I think in the future, the problem will be power consumption. Imagine that many transistors all running at the same time. Where is it going to get all that power from? It's hard to imagine. Maybe Stark Enterprises will put out the arc reactor.
