Everyone is going to have a different opinion. I don't know why they even bother to make lists like this. The only guarantee is that 100% of people will disagree with this list. It's just another ploy to get more nerd traffic in battling it out on the interwebs.

I never played Bioshock but was it THAT good?

It's a dumb list, sure there are great games on there, but there's no rhyme or reason to the placement. Bioshock in the top 100, arguable. Ranked #3? No way in hell.

I'm not even a huge Sonic fan, but I find the fact that Angry Birds is sitting in front of it absolutely stupid.

Yet another good reason to hate g4 I guess.

What a worthless waste of time. The list is completely subjective, almost everyone who reads it will disagree with it.

For me: The fact that Halo 3 is above Halo 1 is absolutely absurd. I would argue that Halo 3 is my least favorite of the original trilogy. Also no Half Life 2? From what I see everywhere just about everyone on the internet loves Half Life 2 and no one ever even brings up HL1. Bioshock at #3 is ridiculous it's a good game but #3, no way.

Also I understand the logic of having GTA 3 as the one GTA on this list since it was revolutionary but I definitely prefer GTA: San Andreas. I tried going back and playing 3 and I could not do it but I had no problem playing San Andreas and it pulled me right in like I had never played it.

Also one thing I find very odd is how in some cases they have a game in a series that did something new and crazy yet in others they pick the one that is the most refined. There's no real consistency there. For example they have Halo 3 over Halo 1, yet they have GTA 3 over GTA 4.

Half Life 1 still set the standard for the use of scripting in games. It helped define a lot of trends, for better or worse.

I remember Half Life blowing my mind the first time I saw it. That gondola ride into the facility alone was amazing for it's time.

Yeah Madden 2005 is the only Madden on the list...I'm pretty sure Madden got better almost every year so I'm not sure how they singled out 2005

See that's my point. I think they are picking a year where there was some kind of groundbreaking change in the series, yet in other cases they pick the most polished game.

My buddy is huge on the NBA games so I played/was around it a lot in residence, mainly they played 2K12 after it came out but it sounded like 2K11 was a pretty big jump in quality. Also it was the first game to have a bunch of "classic" teams or something. A few iterations of Jordan's Bulls, some Bird Celtics and Magic era Lakers and such. Also I think 2K10/9 were really broken or something. It sounds like if you picked Cleveland Lebron was basically unstoppable in those versions, like he almost never missed a 3 or something.

Dont have time to read this thread or that list, but when I saw Words with Friends as 99, I decided to do a find on Angry Birds. The fact that its in that list is absurd. The fact that it's in the middle of the list is even worse.

Man I barely consider Angry Birds a game. It's basically a flash game that they turned into an IOS app. It can be a fun, quick time killer but it has no business being in the top 50 games of all time. But personally I would not count any phone app. My list would only include console games, PC games and maybe a few handheld games.

Also does anyone else think that Batman Arkham Asylum is more deserving of a spot on the list than Arkham City?
