I can't find the stupid chemicals I'm supposed to find. :(

Also, I only got to play for about 20 minutes last night.

I know but I feel like I searched everywhere. I think I'm in the wine cellar. Maybe I'm not? I just know I went down some steps and there was a door in front of me, two doors to the right and two to the left. I went through all of them. I found notes, tinders and health. When I grabbed the health a monster showed up. Also was in the room where you get bonked in the head with a barrel and they teach you how to push large objects out of the way (which kind of sucks actually). Then I just ran around between all the rooms a million times, saw it was getting late and turned it off. :/

Hmmmm, I'm having a hard time remembering exactly. Dante should have a better idea what is going on.

I believe all the chemicals are in the wine cellar. Just look in every room down there.

Marathon, complete!

Combat is exactly like the first game, but the levels are a lot more varied. Visually, at least. You do the same kinda stuff pretty much everywhere. The Zero G sections are a lot better now that you can freely move around with your little jet boosters. Story was more interesting, but I don't really care for the Dead Space story as a whole, but it was definitely delivered better. Maybe it's just because I finished the terrifying Amnesia last night, but I didn't find a moment in this to be scary/freaky. I'm just so manly after Amnesia.

My last save says 6 hours 18 minutes, btw.

If you liked Dead Space 1, you'll like this. If you didn't because of the levels being super repetitive, and also for those awful asteroid shooting sequences, don't completely write this off. If you hated the first, you'll hate this too.

This game was awesome...I agree with the hype for sure. I cant wait to check out part 2 now, I gotta see what ol' Nate does next.

I loved the end fight and I loved the climbing parts and the cut scenes, all the combat was kinda meh though, as I said before I got tired of fighting the same waves of guys about 1/3rd through it. If the story and platforming wasnt so AWESOME this game would be nothing but alas I loved it.

"Adios Asshole."

I don't know if I'd say in every way. But it is radical as shit.

This is a pretty awesome game, but I don't know if it was just because of my lack of weapon upgrading or what, but the last few chapters were SUPER ANNOYING. I never had enough ammo, no health packs, and there are always like 3 or 4 enemies coming at you, not including that one that wouldn't die. The last boss frustrated me, too. They just swarm you with enemies while your cunty dead girlfriend is closing in on you with her 1 hit kill. I must have died 10-15 times before I beat it. I think my problem in this game was that I only upgraded the plasma cutter, rig and stasis. That's it. I threw a few nodes into some other weapons, but never got too far into their skill tree. It probably made some things a lot harder than they would have been with a more balanced weapon load out. I'll just have to fix that in my new game plus.

I want them to just go full 3rd person shooter with this game. I get they are trying to pass it off as survival horror, but the enemies are just too fast and numerous for it to work well as it is now. Let there be more enemies, make them harder, I don't care. Just adjust the controls.

Yeah, those games are good because of the action. I didn't find a single moment to be actually scary, and there wasn't much survival....but I played on casual, haha.

Dead Space 2 - January 31st

Really short game, got through it in about 8 hours, and that was with me leaving it on during meals.

+ Story was great, locations were cool.
+ They tightened up zero-g, got rid of the asteroid shooting stuff
+ guns get an overhaul, and good golly
+ voice acting was still amazing, even Isaac's
+ some amazing cinematic cut/play-scenes

- too short
- didn't feel as scary as the first, at least until the end (even then it was more suspenseful/hectic)
-/+? There weren't any real boss fights in the game
- multiplayer is kind of poo-poo
+/-? There's a lot of parts where they just throw waves of baddies at you to be destroyed, makes it feel like more of an action game and makes the baddies seem less threatening in smaller groups while crawling through corridors
- The plasma cutter really feels useless towards the end of the game

Overall I thought the game was great, as good as the first one if not better.

Tips for play:

1) Upgrade the Force Gun as soon as you get it, if you got the pre-order from gamespot you can get it for free from the first store
2) Force Gun still has the 'shot-gun like' first firing mode, great for the early part of the game as it massacres most people with one hit, later on use the first firing mode to knock baddies down and then finish them with the secondary firing mode (it's like a railgun and does tons of damage). Both firing modes use the same amount of ammo per shot
3) All suits will retain the highest armor and inventory value throughout the game. So if you like the look/bonus the suit at the beginning of the game gives you theres no need to switch it when you get the newer suits.
4) screw stasis, you don't really need it that much throughout the game. I only use it on the wall guys with the tenticles or big baddies like brutes... which is like 5 times throughout the game (maybe), you're better off upgrading armor health and weapons.
5) No real need to upgrade the air supply in this game, the developers were nice enough to give you 119 seconds as your starting number
6) using kinesis to impale necromorphs with various objects in the game is a great way to conserve ammo at the beginning of the game, and allows you to bank excess ammo for later in the game (or sell it at the store for nodes)

*edit*

7) if you use the force gun, then just like a shotgun it's best to wait for baddies to get in real close before discharging the primary firing mode. (go nuts with the railgun secondary fire, it's good for long range killing)

I really didn't feel like it was too short for an action game. Then again, I died a lot in a couple spots where I decided upgrades were more important than extra ammo (which I foolishly sold). Also, probably could've upgraded and used a few other weapons.

I don't think 8 hours is too short for deadspace.

8 hours is the maximum. When Dante said he did it in 6 hours he was probably closer to the actual number.

And I don't know, but I think the first one was a lot longer. I think it took me something like 12 - 15 hours to beat the original. That's a fair size.

Either way it's all relative.
