It's not so much that I want it, I don't want it, thats the thing. Everyone is talking about this thing like it's the second coming of christ yet I have zero interest in it. I feel like I'm missing something.

Maybe this weekend will change my mind.

I think it's because of the dragons, dragons do not disappoint. Your heart lies in a different Skyloft anyways Phil, and I'm right there with you.

It's one of those games that doesn't necessarily have the greatest gameplay, sometimes it's not good at all, but the enjoyment comes from exploring the huge world with tons of things to do. Doesn't sound like your cup of tea! (but you should try it!)

My only problem is I need a new graphics card before I get this game, my 260 GTX just will not cut it for this. I have been holding off until the next gen of cards are released, but unfortunately, AMD/ATI delayed their until January/February, and just rumors about Nvidia's release (they are trying to sneak in there before Christmas since ATI delayed, so they have a chance to be the top dog and steal the Christmas upgrade season). I have too many games I am playing at the moment anyway...

And I really need to upgrade that computer anyway if I upgrade the graphics card. So it will probably be $1-1.5k before it is all said and done, and I really didn't want to do that just yet. That said, it has been several years since I have done anything with that box (upgraded the raid 5 hard drives a couple years back from 500GB disks to 1TB disks, but that was when 1TB drives had hit the $70-80 range), and before that I had upgraded from a 8800 GT video card to the 260 GTX... But the CPU/motherboard/RAM needs some loving, and really I should get a new case, but I don't think I will do that. The Core2 Q9550 has done me pretty well. But it at least needs an OS wipe/re-install and if I am going to do that I should upgrade to SSD as having seen the difference in my HTPC, everything else just feels like ancient and slow waiting on disk, even my 10k veloci-raptors in that box just feel sluggish in comparison.....

Play probably around 4-5 hours yesterday and it was great! Dragons were fought, bandit's were arrow'd, and innocent travelers will travel no more.

I found a quest in some random book about finding an ancient hero's legendary sword, and decided to go do that. The marker on the map was extremely far away, so I'd get to see tons of cool stuff. 3 dead giants, 1 dead dragon, numerous bandit camps, a few temples/dungeons, and 2 hours later, I did it!

SO MUCH STUFF TO DO!

Just played this for 2.5 hours straight on my PC while watching the EG Marathon on my laptop. Tomorrow I'm getting up, picking up Phil and driving down to play for 5-6 more hours @ Randy's place.

I'm a university student. I don't have a ton of time in a row to play. I can sit down and play 2 or 3 matches of COD before class, Skyrim I feel like I'd want to sit there and play for hours on end.

See, this is the why the rest of the world is beating the US. They actually go to class and study instead of sitting at home playing video games. Kudos to you Nick. Way to invest in your future.

Oh cut me a break. Last time I checked we didn't have anyone dying in an internet cafe or marrying their Love Plus characters.

DO. FUCKING. WANT.

wonder what the mid range PC specs are? I bet my video card is too terrible, but the rest of my machine should be fine. off to research, FOR SCIENCE!

AND...DARGONS!

edit: Actually, requirements are NOT as high as i would have thought!

Minimum: Intel/AMD dual core 2GhZ, 2GB RAM, 6GM HDD, DX 9.0c compatible video card with 512mb RAM.
Recommended: Intel/AMD Quad core, 4GB RAM, 6GB HDD, Nvidia GeForce GTX260 or ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB RAM.

Steve and I still plan on heading over to Randys place today. We should be there around 1.

They've been streaming their Skyrim marathon since 6 yesterday.
