Thats good news for sure about the sales, good for them.

I wish there was some way to reset all you talent points for a fee or something. That's probably the MMO player in me talking.

I hit a pretty nasty bug in the game last night during the Companions quest line. If you dont want to have things spoiled then read no further:

After the quest where you go kill the witches you come back and find the main companion dude has been killed by the silver hand. WEll apparently if you turn this quest in while you have the Helm quest (from the Jarl of Winterhold) the game glitches out and you are unable to continue the Companions quest line. This is some serious bullshit as the quest line was pretty good.

Anyway I ended up having to use the setstage command in the console to skip forward, so I basically missed a whole part of the quest. Then the main guy for the next part of the quests was bugged out and stuck as 'Busy'. The trick to snap him out of it is to attack him until he tries to fight you and then quickly put your weapons away. He snaps out of it and the next quest begins.

I guess its not to bad that it took me over 10 hours to find a serious "Bethesda Bug", but I was about to be really pissed off.

Finished the magic college questline. It got pretty crazy. Now I'm the archmage, even though I only know like 8 spells.

Got a pretty sweet room out of it, and some magic gear, if that's what you're into.

That quest was a lot of fun...Morokei (boss) was a bitch to kill though.

I just got to Markarth and I'm really digging the architecture in that city. Reminds me of Vergen from The Witcher 2.

I tried to melee him like 4 or 5 times before I realized I could snipe him to death and he would never come after me. Was easy after that.

Make sure you check out the "house of horrors" quest in markarth. so awesome.

Killed my second dragon priest while testing out some new settings tonight. The mask looks pretty good with the Elven armor set.

Feels good, man.

Curious, how many hours have you guys put in? It seems like i'm not as far along the "main" quest line(s) as you all are. Either that, or we're just doing different lines. I'm working on the Thieves Guild right now. Steam says i've put in about 43 hours so far, but i haven't done SHIT on high hrothgar, or with the companions, or dark brotherhood, etc etc. And i've only even SEEN one dragon other than the scripted one early on.

Steam says 12 for me, but I sailed the seven seas prior to buying it. My save file says I have about 25 hours into it...but I haven't hard saved in a while.

Spiker: That's Krosis.

Sean: I'm about 30 hours in. Really amazed you've only seen 1 dragon in 43 hours. I've fought a ton of them, even new types at this point. The furthest I've gotten in the main questline is going to High Hrothgar to meet the monks that teach you about your shouts. I've been doing a lot of side stuff and exploring. Finished the magic college, doing the companion stuff now.

Definitely pick it up for a little. At least until you get 3rd level Unrelentless Force. Most satisfying attack ever! You can just blow giants down a mountain.

I didn't realize this game was made by the Daggerfall guys. I played Daggerfall back in the day and I had no idea what to do in that. It also ran poorly on my PC so I never got into it. I was kind of going to say, this game reminded me of Daggerfall. Now it all makes sense.

That's my goal. My birthday is December 15th but I have an exam on the 16th and I think my final is the 20th (dates are not solid) so maybe I'll get it for that.

Ok, just wondering. What video cards do you guys have that are playing this game? I have been holding off purchasing because my card is the most out of date that I have ever let my video card get (3 year old 260 GTX core 216). I have been holding off on the new card for the next gen of stuff to release (which with the different rumor mills say might even be before Christmas for Nvidia at least, late January seems pretty well set for AMD/ATI, but you never know, especially if Nvidia finds a way to get theirs out for the holiday season).

AMD HD 5770 1GB.

The game defaulted to Ultra High Settings and it runs okay for the most part.

I have two 6870's Crossfired. Running 1080p Ultra settings, FXAA and its running steady at 60fps (according to fraps anyway).

I play the game with a rock-hard boner equipped at all times.

God, blowing dudes probably looks great on that.

My high point of the journey today was running into a talking dog...

I have a Radeon HD 5770. It's decent, but I'm going to upgrade this christmas. Thinking about a GTX 570.

pre-post edit: I feel so dumb. I was running on High and still having problems (in towns mostly) with my 5770. I really need to add my processor fix to my startup programs. Now it's set to Ultra High and my framerate is much much better. Still drops to like 20-25 fps in towns, but it's a lot better than what it was and it looks tons better. Thank god spiker has the same card that I do.

hmmm.... looks like I am about on par with you guys then in terms of graphics card power. I do need to give this system a little TLC though. After upgrading the HTPC earlier this year, this system just feels so slow. I might have to look at any Black Friday deals on a motherboard/CPU/RAM combo. I wouldn't mind even going to the same thing I put in the HTPC, but I try to keep them on different cycles so that if I eventually upgrade the one, I can possibly flow-down the parts to the other, but the HTPC just needed too much work which was why it got the full overhaul (hadn't done that since 2003 for that system).
