Played through MMPR on SNES tonight. I only played this game once waaaaay back when it came out. I remember it being decent enough then and it's decent enough now. This game could have easily have been a side scrolling brawler like Turtles in Time, but instead it's more of an action/brawler game. There is some platforming mixed in with all the combat.
It's actually surprisingly faithful to the show. I didn't appreciate the sprite work for the teenagers back then because I always wanted to be the Power Ranger, but they all animate accordingly. Billy is nerdy/scared, Jason is tough, etc. Lots of little details like that. Once they morph though that all goes out the window because the Rangers are just color swaps, which looks awful in the case of Kimberly and Trini. Zach's sprite is fucking racist. I can't believe they got away with that. It's seriously just lips.
Oh the music is really good too. Pretty certain the original Castlevania composer did it. Took about a half hour to get through, I enjoyed it enough.
