Batman Begins
Did a little Batman marathon yesterday. Watched Begins from beginning to end for the first time in a while. Its probably the best origin story ever. Such detail before he actually becomes Batman. A couple of scenes that are still awesome are when he beats up the gang near the dock, the Tumbler chase, the birthday party, the hallucination scenes especially when Crane sees Batman as the monster, WHERE ARE THE DRUGS/SWEAR TO ME, everything with Liam Neeson. There are so many to name. Goddamn awesome.

The Dark Knight
I've seen this a million times but usually just bits and pieces on TV. This was probably only the 4th time seeing it from beginning to end. I still like this one better. Best Batman movie ever. The Joker is better than Ra's Al Ghul. And Ledger's performance is one to be looked at for years to come where Neeson was pretty much just being himself. Quality scenes that I love are the opening bank robbery, Two Face in the hospital, Joker/Batman battle and the whole scene at the end with the cops/doctors, Gary Oldman really goes above and beyond. Its just awesome. One of the best movies of the last decade. Not even superhero movies, just movies in general.

Now the only bad part is I have no idea when I am going to be able to see the new one. Maybe not for a couple weeks. I hope its not spoiled.

You're in my position when Inception came out. Haha.

I was going to watch TDK on Wednesday night but I decided I wanted to do work instead. I got a lot done that night, but I sorta wish I watched it anyway.

Yeah, the only way you're watching anything is if you dump the baby off at your parent's.

Yeah and while my mom would love that, I feel like its too early to be dumping my kid off.
Maybe next weekend before I head back to work the wife and I can get a bite and catch a flick.

That's what I'd do. You'll need it by next weekend.

The Dark Knight Rises

My god. MY GOD!!!!! It was amazing. Just holy shit. It's hard to talk about it without going into spoiler territory so all I can say is that it was so worth the wait and there were times where my mouth was just hanging open. You could tell the audience was just eating it up too. There were times where it was just quiet as could be in there. Just an amazing experience. This might be the best trilogy ever created.

Some spoiler tag items for stuff I liked in particular or that irked me.

How the fuck did Blake know Bruce was Batman? That was like the worst logic of all time. So he just rolls up to Bruce's house and says "Hey, you're Batman." and then Bruce is all like "You got me dude." That may have been the worst part.

The first fight with Bane and Batman was insane. It was incredible.

That ending man. Holy shit. Dude tears. Oh and the Alfred and Bruce break up scene. Holy lordy. More Dude tears.

Catwoman was great, I liked that they never called her Catwoman too, she was always just Selena.

Back to Blake, toward the end I was thinking "They basically sneaked Robin into this movie" and then they go and call him Robin. I like how Bruce was leaving all this shit behind for him and teaching him along the way. I wonder if they'll really pick up with Blake for the next Batman? He basically inherited Batman.

Anyway, yes, amazing. Loved the absolute shit out of it.

I'm probably going to go watch it on Sunday. I actually just rewatched Batman Begins. I wish I had it on Bluray but I guess DVD had to do. I can watch TDK tomorrow. That will be on BR. The dad part actually had me a little choked up. I don't remember it affecting me that much before when I saw it. I guess watching stuff about dads feel a little bit different now that I am one. Just makes me wonder if I'll be able to live up to being such an awesome dad like Thomas Wayne.

At the end when Alfred was crying at the grave I almost lost it...Michael Caine is so fuckin good. I also fist pumped when Bale dropped the "give me the trigger...then you have my permission to die."

I have been thinking about it nonstop since seeing it...I have to see it again.

Same here, I can't stop thinking about it. So much action, I thought the movie was OK, but then the last like 45 minutes happened and it blew me away.

Hathaway was ridiculously hot in the movie too.

From the "leap of faith" to the end it was just incredible...and she looked amazing. I would like to give her a pearl necklace.

Yeah she looked amazing. Dat bod. Holy moses.

And I've been thinking about it all day so far too. So has Dem, she even brought it up a few times herself already.

Was anyone else annoyed at the plot twist with that Miranda Tate chick? I felt like it really added nothing to the story.

I actually really liked that twist...Talia is a huge part of the Bat mythos...in fact he even has a son with her named Damien.

Most importantly I think it did add to the whole plot. Bruce trusted this woman enough to hand over his entire company to her. It's because of her that Bane was able to take over Gotham.

Plus because of her the fusion project with the nuke was made in the first place.

That was a true twist to me, I wasn't expecting that at all. I didn't mind it, the whole theater laughed as she got her last word out and died though. I thought the whole ending was sort of predictable though, I wasn't so surprised that he didn't blow up with the nuke and that Alfred saw him at the end. The Robin part surprised me because I had no idea what his name was.

I'm glad the ending was somewhat predictable. If Batman really died I don't think I would have been right for weeks.

Goldfinger
I've never seen any of the Bond films prior to Goldeneye. I noticed Encore had them all On Demand. I went online to find a quick Best Bond Films list and this was #1. Connery is Bond and its the third film in the series. Its about Bond taking down a wealthy dude named Goldfinger who is, obviously, obsessed with gold. The basis for Mike Myer's Goldmember in Austin Powers 2. Connery is a suave son of a bitch. He's with 3 chicks within the first 15 minutes. And this is Rated PG even though he's bangin broads and people are getting killed left and right at the end. Rating systems were so different back then. Its hurt by the cheesiness of its time. Back then it wasn't so bad to have totally terrible fight scenes and awful special effects. But now, its just laughable. The newer ones blow this away in terms of action. Its kind of a slow paced spy thriller. Enjoyable but not terrific. I plan on checking out some more from Connery's time.

Almost all of the Bond films are amazing. You just have to love them for the cheese. I started watching them back before DVD existed.

It's one of my favourite series of films.
