Last week we found out Matthew Vaughn, director of X-Men: First Class, would not be returning for the sequel.
Turns out there is an adequate replacement.

Today it was announced that Bryan Singer would be taking his place.
He directed the first X-Men movie along with the follow up X2. He also did Superman Returns and The Usual Suspects among others.
Great news. Lets see if Singer has more X-Men action to give us.

I really liked the Days of Future Past arc in the comics and also in the 90s Cartoon.

Since First Class was surprisingly good, I think I'll give this one a go, knowing that the man responsible for making comic book movies good again is back at it.

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen joined the cast. I guess for some future scenes.
Also, they are recruiting Hugh Jackman.

Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore signed on to reprise their roles as Rogue, Kitty Pride and Iceman.

Pretty cool casting news.

Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) joins the cast. Rumored character is Puck.

Update to the Dinklage casting. He will not be Puck.
In fact, he's going to be the main villain instead. Not sure which character yet though.

Halle Berry returns as Storm.
This movie is getting very interesting. It really might be the X3 we deserved like Phil said.

Maybe the time travel will negate the events of X3.

Storm was probably the worst character out of those movies. I realize why they had to add her but her character had zero development. Not to mention the stupid line about getting struck by lightning.
