My most anticipated movie of 2010.
I figured there are some Christopher Nolan fans on here so I should make a thread about his new flick (his first since The Dark Knight in 2008). And I tried hyping it up as much as possible on the Summer movie podcast.

Here's a new featurette which shows a lot of the trailer including interviews with Nolan mixed in. I can't wait.

This movie is going to be bad ass. I fully approve of this hype train.

Also I was checking his IMDB the other day, I had no idea he did that insomnia movie with al pacino and robin williams. but now it makes sense that it is one of his.

2.5 Hours is common place in movies now all the big movies are about that length, Avatar, Dark Knight, hell even the Sex and the City flicks are that long...I actually enjoy sitting through a long movie.

and this one looks incredible. I already love the score the Hans Zimmer BRRRRRRRRRRRRRMMMM sounds are awesome.

you enjoy sitting through a long movie. your nuts. Hour 45 starts to get to me. I dont go to the movies that much but if i see a movie that is over 2 hours them im definitely out.

I'm pretty pumped for this too but I have to agree with Ryan. Sitting in a long movie is the worst. I remember the last lord of the rings my body just ached. Nothing beats the couch.

The theater I go to has really comfortable chairs and wide armrests. It's pretty awesome.

The theater I go to just added brand new seats that are super comfy...saw Get him to the Greek in em.

some of the philly theaters i go to screenings at have like lazy boys that recline a lot. plus a shitload of legroom. but then some other ones in philly are giant shit holes.

17 reviews on Rt and its still at 100%. i wonder if its just as in vouge to praise nolan as it is to bash shamalan in holloywood right now?

Well, the last Nolan movies have been consistently fantastic, and Shyamalan's have been consistently not...good.

i really dont want to get this thread off track, but as bad as avatar may or may not be (i havent seen it myself), i somehow doubt its only 4% better than street fighter: the legend of chun-li. hey, im just say'n.

Because the hate is extra thick "just because." There is no reason that Airbender should have a lower score than Dragon Ball Evolution. Is it a bad movie? Sure. Is it under 10% bad? No fucking way.

I'm positive Inception will be great. I can't wait to see it. But Frank's point is that because Nolan has now had some great movies back to back, it seems like people already can't wait to praise Inception.

Basically, people can't wait to love Inception. So they go there and they love it. Most people watching Airbender are going into it thinking "I can't wait to hate this." And then they come out of the movie saying "That was the worst movie I ever saw" when in fact, it wasn't the worst movie they ever saw.

That's all. That said, I can't wait for Inception and I can't wait to love it.

well i think the big problem is that unlike dragon ball z, or streetfighter legend of chun li, people expected a good movie. especially with the marketing that surrounds all of m nights movies. this was a huge hype train that basically derailed and went off a bridge into a river. so therefore it gets demoted to a shittier piece of shit then a piece of shit that we knew would be a piece of shit.
