Surprised no one made a post about this.

A few days ago it was said that Edward Norton would be out of the role of The Hulk in the upcoming Avengers movie (and I guess future Hulk projects if any were actually planned). Apparently on set Norton was a pretty big dick head, and I guess his dick headedness was starting to follow through to The Avengers. So Norton is officially canned.

Today I read that it is rumored that Mark Ruffalo would be in. An interesting choice, but the previous two Hulks were also interesting choices in their own right.

I kind of hate The Incredible Hulk, but I find that I really liked the last two movies (Ang Lee's more than the new one, but the new one still enjoyable). I thought Bana was awesome, and Ed Norton worked out really well too. I've only seen a handful of movies with Ruffalo, but he's a pretty good actor and I'd love to see what he'd do with Bruce Banner.

Any thoughts?

i wasn't a fan of the first hulk, not because of bana, he was decent, the movie itself was just kind of weak. i actually really liked norton as the banner. i mean the actual hulk character doesnt mean shit, its just cgi anyways. i think both of them did a decent banner.

with that said i think he will fit the part nicely. he will make a good banner. i have seen stuff he was in where he was dealing with inner conflict and he pulled it off well. now how it plays up against rdj and the other egos on this set..well thats another story.

Isn't your boy Joss Whedon doing The Avengers flick? Surprised you guys aren't more pumped about this. I guess because its so far off.

while i do like whedon stuff, mostly just buffy and firefly. im just not as excited about it after his latest stuff. dollhouse had potential and the way he ended it was just awful. i do really like his dialogue and humor though, and I am looking forward to how he handles RDJ. That should be really good. But I am not ready to jump on this hype train just yet.

I really like Mark Ruffalo, it just sucks they have to keep changing the Banner actor. Actually I'm a big fan of Bana and Norton too so at least they keep making really good choices.

Avengers is gonna be good but I was really hoping Norton would come back...I loved his Banner/Hulk.

Ruffalo is ok I guess, I also heard a rumor about Joaquin Phoenix being in talks as well.

I say bring back Bana.

I like all 3 guys, so it doesn't matter to me that much. I'm not pumped about this movie yet because, well, there's so many more movies coming out before it. Gotta see how the next movies do.

You probably secretly saw him in a lot of movies and didn't realize. His starring roles are usually in lesser known films.

The first movie I ever saw him in was You Can Count On Me. We had to watch it in one of our classes during my AIPH days. It was my teachers "most favorite movie eveeeeerrrrrr" so we had to watch it. It was actually pretty good. A good drama, nothing exciting or anything. But he's a pretty good actor, and I could see him being a good Bruce Banner.

The first thing I saw him in was The Last Castle with Robert Redford in the military prison.

He was also one of the cops looking for Tom Cruise in Collateral, and he was in Brothers Bloom which came out last summer as a con man trying to help his brother (the now beefed up Adrian Brody).

Last Castle was on TV the other night here. Loved it.

As long as you don't look at his romantic comedies....I think that's all he did for a while.

from joblo.com
UPDATE - Deadline claims the deal is done for Ruffalo to join AVENGERS, and that you'll get the official announcement at the Saturday Comic Con panel from Marvel!

Changed the topic title since this could just be all the Avengers movie talk now.

In case you cant tell from the picture, its Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulsen, Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Steve Rogers/Captain America, Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury, Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton/Hawkeye, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Incredible Hulk, Joss Whedon (writer/director), and Zak Penn (writer).

Hahah man I have a bad feeling about The Avengers. There are so many egos on that stage there is no way they could all work together and make a great movie.

If Joss Whedon can wrangle em...it's going to be something special.

You know what they say, you cant polish a turd. The Avengers was like the mismatched retard super-hero team. It was like, hey the X-men have been successful maybe people would like all these other stupid random characters if they teamed up too.

Don't pay him any mind, he was just on a trolling bender after some unfortunate comments last night.
