When I saw it last night, even though I knew what was coming next I still choked up when Alfred was crying at the grave.

Saw it this weekend at the Cherry Hill Imax. Thought it was really good but definitely not as good as #2. I was getting really annoyed at Banes voice, and half the time I couldn't really understand what he was saying. He was a good character though and bad ass. Is this definitely the last one? They left it open for so much more. I can see Nolan coming back like 10 years down the line and making another sequel or something.

I was saying that about Bane the first time I saw it, if I was watching it at my house I would have rewound and turned on the Closed Captions haha.

Nolan has said in interviews that he is done with the series and wants to move on. I think he set it up pretty nicely to be the end.
But who knows, never say never.

yeah, he set it up so batman is the dread pirate roberts. pretty sure he is not planning on doing anymore. but be sure that in a decade or less there will be more batman movies. it is inevitable.

I liked it well enough. Like the other Christopher Nolan Batmans, it had too much buildup and not enough ass kicking. I think that was offset by Heath Ledger a bit in Dark Knight, but Cobra Command...I mean Bane was not nearly as riveting. This was definitely the silliest of his trilogy, with Bane's voice and ridiculous hand gestures. Every time he was on screen I was just really distracted by the disembodied voice. Anne Hathaway was pretty good as Catwoman. I felt like she was trying to channel Michelle Pfeiffer a couple times, and it worked. The action scenes were all pretty great. Still, just too much downtime in the movie, so I probably won't pick it up on bluray.

I liked the voice. It's so ridiculous but I think I prefer it to some over used deep evil guy voice.

the voice itself wasnt so far off from what was in Batman TAS. the problem was in the mix and in a couple of places they overused whatever filter they were using and you couldn't totally understand it. at this point, there is no excuse to not have the voice actually seem like it is coming from the actor. they didnt even get it close. it was everywhere...

Which leads me to think they did that on purpose. They wanted it so that when Bane spoke, everyone listened.

thats stupid. you cant just have random unmixed audio. i dont care what the purpose is. it sounded like shit. if it was a conscious decision, then nolan isnt as great as i thought.

I agree with this, every time time he spoke I found myself listening more closely, I dont really remember a part where I couldnt understand him

And its fun doing an impression of it haha

yeah i think it was done on purpose. his voice was purposefully meant to be heard from everywhere. when he spoke you listened. i will agree that the effect they put on it coupled with his accent may have been a bit too much, and was hard to understand what he was saying at times. however, i wont label it as sloppy mixing. i feel it was a choice that may not have been the best at times.

i think it had a ton of action in it. these movies are character studies about that make bruce wayne tick. i don't feel there was down time. the only thing i would say hat could've been cut was the business with the school kids at the end, but i feel they had to do that just to give what's his name something to do. still, in a way that scene had a payoff beyond the movie. those kids on the bridge were witnesses to batman's greatness. and the day when batman inevitably comes back those kids will be older, maybe some even in crime themselves, and will remember that batman is fucking bad ass. it will blow their minds.

it was either a lazy choice or a bad one. either way, it was poor editing.

so i was just watching batman begins, and the moment crane puts his mask on a very similar effect happens. he suddenly sounds like he's coming form all over the place and his voice has an effect on it. i think the same approach was used here with bane, but again bang has an accent which makes him hard to understand.

ahahahaha!

also, the crane voice thing was because of the toxin. it was part of the overall "hallucination" effect.

He's right...In Dark Knight he has the mask on and talks normally. I think that filter was the hallucination effect.

That voice is still monumentally awful. He sounds like a bond villain.

Monumentally? I wouldn't go that far. I actually really liked it. Anyone can be a brute and do an evil voice but he sounded like an intelligent brute...it was kind of refreshing for me.
