There’s a good chance that Under the Dome is show everyone will be talking about this summer. ABC is adapting the Stephen King best-seller about a small town that’s suddenly isolated by a huge, invisible dome into a 13 part mini-series. Broadcast begins June 24, and the network has just released the first actual look at the show. It’s a one-minute long behind the scenes featurette that has some footage featuring the town, the cast, and some of the effects. Check out the video below.
Thanks to Deadline for the link.

Steven Spielberg‘s Amblin Entertainment is producing and Neal Baer (ER) has signed on as the showrunner. Niels Arden Oplev, the director of the original Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, will helm the first episode. It stars Chad Vogel, Rachel Lefevre, Dean Norris, Jolene Purdy, Nicholas Strong, Britt Robertson, Aisha Hinds, Alex Koch, Natalie Martinez and Colin Ford.

Does a '13 part mini-series' mean it will definitely only be one season? I'll give it a shot if there's 0 chance of stretching it thin.

I'm pretty sure they would have called it Season 1 if they were preparing to stretch it.
So I think you're safe to watch.

Under the Dome was a pretty great book. I absolutely despised the ending but the rest of it was great.

I never got around to reading it. I'll probably tune into this, maybe it will force me to read the novel.

I almost never go from show/movie to novel. Something about knowing the twists and shit going into a book is just not for me.

Is it CBS or ABC that this will air on? It's just that the CBS logo appeared at the end.

Anyone watch this? My expectations were low but I decided to throw it on DVR at the last minute last night.

It was interesting enough. Kind of silly.
Lots of characters to get to know. Some good looking broads.
I'll stick with it.
