This movie looks absolutely stupid but I always laugh at that Dante guy in the TV spots.

who knows, maybe it could be like a grandma's boy and surprise me.

Saw this on RT

Quote:
David Katzenberg (Jeffrey's son) and Seth Grahame-Smith (author of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter) have set up their new production company KatzSmith Productions at Warner Bros in a two year deal that includes a sequel to Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. The intention is to reboot the Beetlejuice brand name by advancing the story started by the 1988 supernatural comedy starring Winona Ryder, Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis and Michael Keaton as the titular ghost who hires himself out to spirits looking to rid their homes of the living. The KatzSmith deal grew out of the screenwriting work Seth Grahame-Smith recently did for Warner Bros on Tim Burton's movie version of the vampire soap opera Dark Shadows, starring Johnny Depp. The deal is for two movies, one of which is expected to be the Beetlejuice sequel. Other projects that may be included in the deal are We Three Kings (an adaptation of Grahame-Smith's next revisionist novel about what the Three Wise Men were really up to), Bryantology (about a man who invents a religion based around himself as a tax loophole) and Night of the Living, a stop-motion comedy about a town of monsters who find themselves besieged by an invasion of human beings.

If Keaton is in it, I'm in. I will not accept another person playing Beet.

So I saw a bunch of movies at the Toronto International Film Festival...working on full reviews for wiseguys but here's how I felt about a few...

Killer Elite
Awful. Action was lame and the story bored the crap outta me. Clive Owen is the only positive. De Niro continues his streak of bad films. Comes out 23rd, I'd wait till video.

Friends With Kids
R-rated rom com about 3 groups of friends who have kids and it changes their lives so a bunch of people on here will definitely relate. It has a very similar cast to Bridesmaids and I thought it was great. Adam Scott, Jon Hamm and Chris O'Dowd are hilarious but it also has a lot of good drama. Definitely a good date movie cause males and females will both enjoy. No release date yet.

Rampart
Gritty crime drama starring Woody Harrelson and Ben Foster from the director of The Messenger. It's a little too artsy for it's own good, some of the cinematography was crazy but took me out of the story a bit because of how out there it was. Harrelson is a scumbag but it's a pretty damn good performance. No release date.

Drive
Dark, violent, crime thriller. Fucking amazing. Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston and Albert Brooks are all awesome. Go see it Friday.

Really? I thought the first trailer made it look awesome. I think I saw the Red Band before anything else.

I hate trailers anymore, most are just cut to sell the film and give away too much. The international trailer is the best released so far but it is a little spoilery. The elevator sequence is pretty sweet man, it's just one of a handul of scenes of extreme violence. I think your view of Gosling might change after this, I kind of felt the way I did about this as I did after seeing Leo in The Departed. It's part arthouse and part mainstream so some scenes may look a little different but trust me it's masterfully executed. My favorite movie of the year by far.

I hate it when they give too much shit away in trailers, it was that way with horrible bosses, pretty much every main joke was given away in the trailer.
