The dude at EB game me a bunch of shit about buying it and actually said that "You must be pretty bored to be buying Donkey Konga". I don't know if he was just being a smartass, or trying to make funny with me. I told him it was for me to play with my kid. His manager gave him a look like he should probably just shut the muck up before he said anything else stupid.

I felt like becoming 'hipster' for a minute and laying into him, but I refrained.

Someone should take a hidden camera and purposely buy something you know they would make fun of. Then as they make their smart ass comments, you raise hell like a mad man. Hurtin' Bombs.

I shouldn't be coming down so hard on Wii Fit. I'll probably end up getting down the road sometime. But for me to throw my (really hard earned) cash around on stuff I only 'sorta' want is silly. I'm thinking about all the major series and their Wii sequels.

Mario - Mario Galaxy
Metroid - Metroid Prime 3
Zelda - Twilight Princess
Mario Kart - Mario Kart Wii
Smash Bros. - Smash Bros. Brawl
Fire Emblem - Radiant Dawn
Paper Mario - Paper Mario Wii

Think about it, how many more first company games by Nintendo are left? Donkey Kong?

You are growing up my friend. You are beginning to see the light.

personally, i love the wii. it plays games that i like, and then someday, another console will come out and everyone will love/hate that. end of story.

that said, there doesn't seem to be much on the horizon beyond mario kart which is a must own for me. nintendo's online strategy has always been dodgy, so thats no surprise. im more concerned about the storage for these online WiiWare games. SD cards dont seem to be a good choice for what they need to do.

so i guess im not buying anything until MK comes out...im still trudging through assassins creed...and THE NEXT SHORT BO-YAH

I'm not very fond of the Wii personally. I agree that it does have some quality games but I can't see them making very many in the long run. I personally am the kind of person who will beat a game and if it doesn't have good replay value, multiplayer, or wasn't very fun I trade it in. I think I've had a grand total of maybe 40 360 games since it came out. I have 26 now and there are maybe 4-5 that I will trade in and 5 that I want to but they don't meet the value limit for the trade 3 get 1 free option and I don't really see myself trading in a game for like 5 bucks...

maybe ebay has a future for me...

Today I took a ride over to Next Level Games in search of an old Sunsoft game called Journey to Silius. I hear it's awesome, and was supposed to be the Terminator 2 NES game until Sunsoft lost the license... or something like that. Oh yeah, and apparently it has great music. If Batman and Fester's Quest are anything to go by, then it will have great music. Anyway, they didn't have it. So I ended up picking up Crystalis, Faxanadu, and Bad Dudes for 12 bucks total (all NES games). Bad Dudes was 99 cents, which is totally worth it. I buy Snickers bar that cost more than that.

edit: Oh yeah, and they actually had Gradius V, but it was 30 bucks. I did the PUPD with my eye balls with it, since it was in a glass case.

Do you still have your NES hooked up? Man, I'd pick up Bad Dudes for 99 cents. I'M BAD!!

Did you hear about that Journey to Silius game from gametrailers? I think I saw a screwattack video on it. It sounded familiar when you said it was based off of T2 but they lost their license.

I've been wanting to check that store out for a while now I just never made it over there. I think when it warms up I'm gonna take a trip to the Berlin Auction, you should come with me you, one time I found a TG16 with everything except the power cord for 10 bucks.

Is there a way to convert the NES output to progressive scan? I think that has to be done with hardware. I wonder if there's an adapter for that.

Too bad the Sega CD is a piece of shit.

I just did some light research, seems like when you compress white and black together, you can't separate it out again. So you can't get a component signal from a composite.

I thought about buying that too, but I did myself a little reading up on it. Even though it uses composite video like the original NES, the video actually doesn't look as nice, especially on an HDTV. I forget where, but I saw still shots of SMB1 on an HDTV running on Wii, the NES, the Messiah, and another machine. Also, some games don't work on the Messiah, one being Castlevania 3. CV3 uses some special chips and shit that the Messiah doesn't recognize. I also heard some games run into slow down issues on it. It blows, because the machine looks awesome, and it's so tiny, and also doubles as a Famicom player. But you're basically buying an Emulator that you actually need the games for. If the unit were a little cheaper, I'd say go for it, but it's a steep price. You would prolly be better off buying a used NES off eBay and installed a new 72 pin connector. Oh, and the top loader (NES2) is the worst of them all - it doesn't even have composite jacks, you need an RF adapter just like the bloody Genesis and TG16. :( :( :(

Being that the Sega Saturn is the only console you can get an English version of Snatcher on, I'd say that makes it worthy of owning.

The Saturn had an english version of Snatcher? I knew there was a japan version, but I thought the only English version was the Sega CD one.

Whoops! You got me, I meant to say Snatcher was on the Sega CD. I know I just told you this through IM, but I figured I'd share here.
