I was really sad when I heard about this. I watched the coverage where the media was trying to downplay a terrosist attack and then when I got to work the Cory Lidle news came out. My stomach instantly dropped. I don't know why it bothered me so much, but it did; I always liked Lidle as a pitcher and I was happy for him when he got traded. He always seemed like a strong-willed guy. I liked when he said that crap about Bonds and steroids. It sucks.

A year ago today, Eddie Guerrero died.

Can't believe it's been a year already.

basil poledoreus passed away last week, too. he wa the composer of conan: the barbarian, starship troopers, robocop, farewell to the king, and hunt for red october. these are some of my all time favorite soundtracks, especially conan.

basil poledoreus, we...speak...your...name.

This has been all over the internet, but I figured I'd add it to this thread.

CNET has a full tribute page up for him:

Damn shame about this, always enjoyed his gadget segments on TechTV back in the day. At least his wife and kids were rescued.

i was at my paretns house for breakfast and when i left my brother called me and said james brown died.

my dad was a huge fan so he was kinda upset.
i know james had some trouble over the last several years but he was truly a unique and innovative artist for his time. i enjoyed a bunch of his songs.

livin in america from rocky 4 will now go on to commemorate the life of the godfather of soul.
