The Canadian house of Commons passed a non-confidance vote today after basically every party rejecty the Conservative budget. That means that there will be an election here in early May. Right now the conservatives have a minority government which means they have the most seats of all of the singular parties but the others (primarily Liberals, NDP and Bloc Quebecois and a little bit of Green Party) combine to have more seats than them so it becomes difficult for them to pass bills.

The Liberals are generally the party I support but after some controversy in their last government and with shakey leadership I find it hard to bellieve that they will win. Right now it's pretty much a "who do I hate the least" vote for me so the Liberals win.

People are also so amazingly dumb. I've been reading interviews/hearing everyone be all like "Well I'm voting Conservative cause they did nothing wrong with this curent government." Are you kidding me? 1 there has been plenty of controversy in this current government (Harper prorogation anyone). 2 the reason that they haven't passed too many shitty laws is because they have a MINORITY so the other parties won't let them.

Anyways I predict 1 of 3 things happening come May.The conservatives keep their minority(making the election nothing but a big ole waste of taxpayer money). The Liberals get a Minority (useless and from polls unlikely). Or the Conservatives get a majority (I fucking hate this option so much but it seems very likely right now).

Politics in general is a whore daddy, someone tried to tell me why democrats are superior in every way to the republicans. I just said that it doesn't matter what party you're from, you're still a politician. He wouldn't have that haha

I love how people are such zealots sometimes for the dumbest things

Political trolls are even worse than video game trolls. In the comments section of every news article I read online will be full of politics trolls bashing the other party and blaming them for the US's state of affairs. I hate them all. All idiots, the lot of them.

It's easy to blame them because they have a face. I blame the voters. Hell I blame the 40% of eligible voters who didn't vote last election (mostly people who dislike Conservatives and were shaken by the few dirty Liberal money stealers/thought Dion was a pussy). If you hate them all you should still vote for whoever you hate least, or don't even worry about who becomes the overall and vote based on your local MP.

I'm a believer that lower turn outs are probably better, but that's under the impression that people are dumb and should not vote on something they haven't the slightest clue about.

Someone told me that if you don't register to vote, you won't get called in for jury duty. I looked it up, and that's not true for every state, but I kind of don't want to register until I get a summons anyway...Yes, I'm a bad citizen.

Well I want a combination of more voter turnout and an increase in poliical knowledge (or education) of those voters. Everyone always bitches about the government but if you ask them who they oted for they say "oh, I didn't vote" well then stop complaining. If you voted for the opposition and they lost that's fine. If you voted for the current government and they broke their promises or did something stupid that's fine too. But if you didn't take the opportunity for your voice to be heard in the decision don't bitch about the result.

Also Dante you are young enough that I doubt they would put you on a jury even if you were summoned to the "try outs".

politicians are terrible. all of them. none of them represent me and it is unlikely they ever will. most of the governments in existence today are pretty broken.

Yeah, but I'd still have to drive down to Ventura and sit at the court house all day...

The only thing that really would ever be good is a benevolent dictatorship, which is possible in very short term but basically impossible long term.
