Have you guys heard about this Troy Davis guy. Dude was sentenced to death for killing an off duty cop back in 1989. Since then 7/9 of the witnesses against him have recanted their statements and there was something about the ballistics report that was proven to be false. Yet after all that the state of Georgia is still going to give this guy the needle tomorrow night.

If 7/9 witnesses recant I'm going to say that there is definitely enough reasonable doubt to at least avoid the death penalty.

It makes me sick that a child killer can get away scott free while a man who may not have even committed a crime is going to lose his life.

Haha good 'ol Rick Perry.

I love the Republican mentality, "Government is incompetent and should be as limited as possible, except when it comes to fighting wars, regulating drugs, defense spending, and excercising the death penalty as frequently as possible... oh and god forbid we don't like your lifestyle choices, cause we have policy and legislation for that too."

God forbid you tax the rich, or try to help the middle class in any possible way.

I love you Americans, I really do, but what the fuck happened to the apparatus of your state? Big business can lick my ass, all the tax breaks in the world isn't going to stop them from out-sourcing jobs, fucking up the economy, and destroying the environment.

On a side note, when did Obama become a Republican?

The only crime here is this happened in 1989 and that it even took them this long to go through with the killing.

I half joke

here's the whole wiki on this story BTW http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troy_Davis_case

i dont give a shit about them killing this guy. hes an asshole and 9/10 "wrongfully convicted" people haven't ever been caught for the rotten shit they actually did do.

but baltars post still has merit and i still say a revolution is coming.

Damn you guys are harsh. It sounds to me like they have very little against this guy and he's basically getting killed for assaulting a guy.

Also since he was convicted now he is "guilty until proven innocent" even after 7/9 people who said they saw him do it or that he confessed to them have changed their story and said police pressured them into their original testimony. Also it sounds like 1 of the two people who maintain what they testified is also a suspect...

There are very few cases where I agree with the death penalty, and even if he did do this I still disagree.

Too bad HBO wasn't around to cover the story because their documentary on the West Memphis Three got so much media involved that it actually helped their case.

This one seems interesting too. Not as wild as the WM3 but still I'd like to know what actually happened.
We probably don't even know half the corruption that goes on in police forces and governments.

they matched ballistics to a gun in another crime he was convicted of. based on what I read, this guy has killed before and probably never got caught. violent offenders just need to be put down. i dont want to pay for their prison time.

If you factor in everything the death penalty actually winds up costing taxpayers more than keeping a prisoner in jail for life in most cases.

oh i didnt say our current death penalty means arent stupid and costly. i just said we need to put violent offenders down. i would prefer a cheap bullet to the head. they dont feel shit and it costs very little to tax payers. they shoudln't be living. they will not change, they only get worse in prison. they are of no use to society.

If I'm ever ruler of the world, I would appoint Irate as my VP.

It is a fact that there are no too many people in the world. Those who do not contribute to society, should be eliminated. Living here should be a privilege, not a right.

I think society would function much better if we were like the borg.

I'd vote for you guys.

I vote we bring back the guillotine, there's nothing humane about it, relatively painless.

Also i agree, violent offenders always do the same shit again, I'll give casey anthony a few years before she does something stupid again.

The Supreme Court has granted a temporary reprieve due to a last minute appeal.

Intriguing article. Pretty sure it was written up quickly since it has some grammatical mistakes and such.

#8 is the one that really leaps out at me.
