So I imagine some of you podcast fans have listened to your fair share of Shamoozal Radio. I'd like to make this thread to get some of your thoughts on the podcast as a whole.

What do you think about the podcast?
Have we, as podcasting personalities improved with time?
What are your favorite segments?
What don't you like about the podcast?
What segments are your least favorite?
Do you like the games and do you want to see more of them?
Is an hour run time to short or to long?

These are just a handful of things I'm curious about. Thanks!

I enjoy it. Its the only podcast I listen to religiously besides the official LOST one on ABC. haha i may be biased because i know you guys personally. plus the ustream thing is awesome. i dont make it out for it too often but when i do its a good time in the chatroom.

Quote:

yes, at first you guys would all talk at the same time and laugh really loud into the mics. although i didnt mind too much, sometimes i had to turn the volume down. its more fine tuned now.

Quote:
What are your favorite segments?

movie or TV talk and games (not video games but like the trivia and stuff like the turn on the NES)

Quote:

Quote:

used to be very heavily into video game talk. i dont mind some but i must admit i have fast forwarded through some video game talk when it got a bit longwinded.

Quote:

see above, one of my favorite things. would like to see one per podcast if possible.

Quote:

its a decent run time. i usually can make it through the whole thing in one sitting. any longer would be too long.

I miss the games. I don't think there has been one in a while.

I would like to see new interesting sections for the middle of the podcast. Maybe something themed and the theme would be different each podcast. Kind of like the games you guys had before.

Right now, the format is pretty much:
Shamoozal News
Nerd News
Random Discussion
Whoredaddies/Clutch

Maybe we can create more structure in the random discussion section or just something different.

The podcast has and will always be great, it's the only one I listen to because it covers almost everything I like. The chatroom is absolutely perfect, if your discussion wades away from my interest I focus on the chatroom and we get a lot of laughs there.
Over the podcasts you guys definitely have changed, it's much less hectic now but I always felt that added to the comedy a bit. ;)
I always love hearing about new animations, even if you don't say much on them. And the Whore daddies/clutches are always great.
I used to tune out every time you'd bring up BSG or anything of the like but I usually listen to everything now.
The games were by far...hands down...the funniest things I have ever listened to. Nose hair bouquet and the wiffle bat made my day. Bring back the painful trivia games!
An hour is a solid number...it always goes by so fast though...

The games usually make the podcasts go a bit longer but I don't mind that.

Memorable moments:
Solidecry vs. NES

You guys probably already know how I feel about the Shamoozal Podcasts, I tend to reference them on the boards more than I probably should.

I do miss the games you guys used to do, stuff like the nosehair bouquet etc. are just amazing.

Even the newer games like are you smarter than a 5th grader and having a certain someone answer, "Triangle" was hilarious.

The great thing about the games is I like to play them along with you guys, whenever you do like nes or movie trivia I'm usually right there guessing them as well.

You guys have definitely improved over the 23 episodes you've done in terms of developing a really great chemistry, I have memorable moments from everyone, whether it be Steve, Jim, Phil, Frank or Joe even those few guest appearances with the General Johnny Manf have yeilded some awesome comedic gold.

I also don't mind you guys talking about BSG (obviously I am Baltar) and even LOST and 24, I actually kind of miss all the segments where you'd start off talking about a given show and then breaking off into hero worship about Locke, Bauer, Baltar and EJO.

The Bromance of the 3 kingdoms with Jim's bit about having EJO leave him origamis and snuggling with him was just fantastic for instance.

I also miss the old segments where you used to discuss what's going on in the Shamoozal community. Recounting some of the hilarious of forum members in the past have been great little snippits that I still have fun listening to.

Overall though I wouldn't say you guys do anything I hate, and really you don't need to add much of anything the SRP is just plain mucking awesome.

that is the format. the "random" stuff isn't as random as you think. we try to make them string into each other with varying degrees of success.

i think doing some games would be nice. i had an idea for one for this past podcast, but it got passed on. such is life.

Sphinxlord and Joe seemed to come up with the best games, we should get some going again.

I personally enjoy listening to the podcasts at work, in my car, just wish I could listen to them live.

Phil wrote:

I think that you guys are getting more comfortable with doing podcasts. As far as improved? Hard to say. I do enjoy the show though. It's the only podcast I listen to.

Phil wrote:

Nerd news. Any game segment you guys do. And if there is some sort of "bonus track" at the end, those are always funny.

Phil wrote:
What don't you like about the podcast?

Wish it was more regular. But I know that takes a bit more work.

Phil wrote:

The Whore Daddy or Clutch segment. It's not bad, it's just my least favorite.

Phil wrote:

I love the games, and would love to see more of them. The way everyone interacts with the games is some of the best stuff on the podcasts I think.

Phil wrote:

I used to complain about the time being too long, but that was when I CD-R-ed the podcasts so I could listen to them in the car. But now, since I have an MP3 player and car adapter, the time doesn't bug me. I think a little over an hour is best.

You're welcome. Good to know you are asking for input.

i agree with everything manf said. my only extra comment is that i miss joe being on the actual podcast. i know he is the sound engineer so that is why he isn't so much any more, but i still miss the gravedigger.

He was a great addition. Once the Ustream feed came on he always looked like he was bored out of his mind during the podcast but he added a lot to it all.

Yeah but he would really get into it whenever they brought up Ghost Hunters though.

I love everything about the Podcast's except the recent lack of overthetop games with hilarious punishments.
