AHAHAHAH damn I love Conando!

I'm really curious how his contract is written, because they never took the Tonight Show away from him, they just planned on moving it's time slot.

Conan is the man. This NBC bullshit is ridiculous. If Conan decided to leave NBC in this mess they would lose SOOOO many viewers. Yeah Leno is really popular and whatnot, but not so much with the younger crowd. People of this younger generation love Conan and Richter.

Conan has invited Howard Stern to appear on the show, but Howard wasn't sure if he was gonna do it. Personally, I hope he goes on there and rips Leno apart. Supposedly Patton Oswalt ripped Leno too, but I didn't hear the audio of that.

they said that Letterman also invited Conan to his show. Imagine him and stern both on letterman. Haha that would be great. Howard said he wouldnt go on there with them though.

I hope he does do Conans show next week though.

Latest rumor is that Leno has already signed a contract returning to The Tonight Show and that Conan's last episode is January 22nd.

Well done, NBC. You've made numerous attempts to can Conan since he started work on your network, and now you've done it in the most round-about way possible.

Beh.

The details are coming in. Conan O'Brien is reportedly going to receive $32.5 million from NBC in a buyout.

But, that's not exactly a positive for the soon-to-be ousted Tonight Show host. Any deal he receives from another network (Fox) would offset much of the sum.

Also, according to TMZ, NBC won't allow O'Brien to take any of his characters or bits with him. That means no more "In The Year 3,000", Triumph, The Masturbating Bear, or any other classic Conan bits.

Thats even bigger bullshit that he doesn't hold the rights to his bits.

Here's the thing about the characters and bits.

First off, I'm pretty sure Triumph is not owned by Conan or NBC. He's Robert Smigel's property. He even used Triumph in his own short-lived TV Funhouse show on Comedy Central.

Second, it's not a done deal about NBC owning his characters. They made concede to just giving him the rights to do them if it means they get rid of him easier.

Lastly, and most importantly, look at what Letterman did when he left Late Night...he basically just renamed his comedy bits and there's never been any trouble over it. So I'd expect to see "In The Year 4,000," The Masturbating Polar Bear, Vomiting Gonzo, and the UPS Pope.

well when it was Late Night it was "In the year 2000".... even after the year 2000.... which made it even more hilarious.
Also, I didn't think the masturbating bear ever made it to the Tonight Show because NBC wouldn't let him put it on that early.

Either way, he's a great writer and has a lot of great writer friends (including smigel) that I'm sure they could come up with new bits.... I just thought it was bullshit that NBC would pull that crap and say he couldn't use his own material.

Yeah, it's complete douchebaggery. But you're right, they'll come up with lots of great new bits. And like the Masturbating Bear, a lot of the original Late Night characters never made it to the Tonight Show, so no huge loss.

Hahaha...yeah. He ought to do one this week while he still can.

Still no word about who owns LaBamba though.

I'm watching Conan from last night and it is fucking hilarious. They showed this animation from Hong Kong that explains the entire debacle and it had Conan turning into tthe Incredible Hulk beating everyone up:

Then Norm came out and I loved it.

Wow, this reporter is talking like she's half retarded. How did she ever get a job as a reporter? I she can't even speak right. It looks like something out of The Sims.
