I've been sort of floating through this past 10 months with art classes, getting better at it, but it's all very stale, I haven't been animating for a good year as well. So i went through a hundred or so old flash animations, and I've found that I used to actually be better at art from animating all the time. while i've improved at drawing in the field of real life, my character drawings have declined from lack of animation.

Watching all those old animations brought a lot of inspiration to start new work again, already starting a new one right now, please look forward too it!

Yeah looking at old work can have different effects. There are times where I'm embarrassed of old work, but admire some of the skill I had at certain times. For example, most of the original Shamoozal cartoons I hate. I think they look ugly. I feel like my animation has improved a bit since starting the shorts. Some of the artwork has improved too. But I can't draw as well as I could when I was in school drawing every single day. I wish I was back at that level, now I just find myself getting discouraged.

yeah looking at old stuff can generally have that effect. its important to be able to look at it and learn from it.

Haha I didn't mean to discourage you Phil. Yeah i think that's it, when i animated a lot I was doing it on a daily basis, and now days I don't draw characters anymore, i'm just sitting around drawing studies, which is great for learning how to draw but I can't even draw cartoons or illustrations as well anymore :(
