This is a new Showtime original series starting on Sunday January 9th.
It stars William H Macy as an alcoholic single father who has a shitload of kids. His oldest daughter is played by Emmy Rossum and she ends up being the Mom of the family. Macy looks pretty funny in it and I'll give it a shot since it comes on the same night as Californication.

These commercials have been getting on my nerves. I think it looks pretty awful. I'm a fan of Macy usually and I wish him well with the show but I can't take the previews. Maybe it's a good show, but I don't have a desire to watch it. Maybe if you guys all watch it and enjoy it I'd be more inclined to give it a fair chance.

What gets on your nerves about it? The previews made me want to watch it.
But its ok. Shows are no fun to watch live anyway. Seasons on DVD are where its at.

I don't know, I feel like it's one of those shows trying really hard to be edgy yet it appears to be written by 50 year old men in suits (which probably isn't the case). Like I said though, I do like Macy and I hope it does well for him, just doesn't seem like something I'd be into.

You're right about the watching of seasons on DVD. I wonder if some of us would have enjoyed Dexter more this season had we been able to watch them all back to back.

Anyone watch it last night? It was definitely interesting.
I don't really know what the show is going to be about. I guess just dealing with Macy because he's the worst dad in the world.
He wasn't really in it too much. But his few scenes were great, especially his drunk scene near the end. Next week looks like it gets pretty serious because Macy beats up one of his kids. Or so they made it seem like he headbutts someone when he's drunk.

Its definitely going to be more about Emmy Rossum's character Fiona and how she takes care of everyone.
But I liked it. Californication and Shameless are the new 1-2 punch for me on Sunday since all HBO shows ended.

Well it definitely had some funny moments but it looks like it goes both ways depending on the storyline of the week.
The previews for next week were mostly serious about Macy's problems. Plus one of the kids in the family is gay and having an affair with an older married guy so its kind of messed up. They had some laughs with it but also some serious moments as the older brother tries to understand how his younger bro could do that.

Yeah, that was just an insane episode. Mandy got so mad at Karen, she was actually gritting her teeth saying I HATE HER!
I can't believe that wasn't the season finale.

haha I know. So much happened in the last 10 minutes it was insane. Lip is awesome I hope he starts doing movies soon.
