At first I actually thought the whole "your mom hates this game" was kind of smart marketing, but then I was listening to Weekend Confirmed and Garnett made a case about it and I ended up siding with him. Basically, the game is trying to appeal to a market that shouldn't be playing it. His main beef was that "video games aren't taking themselves seriously" where as I'm more on the side of "yeah, maybe it shouldn't be marketed towards kids." It's pretty irresponsible of EA. Though I guess when you get down to it, it's no secret kids are playing a shit ton of games they shouldn't be playing.

Unrelated, I wonder who EA will blame when Dead Space 2 bombs about as poorly as Dead Space 1 and Extraction? Unless somehow the series magically grew its fan base by a large amount in that time frame. Which I kind of find hard to believe.

I'm not knocking DS2 BTW, I can't wait to play it eventually.

Hahah, well in that case, it's still a decent campaign. I didn't hear the Billy stuff, just saw some of the videos on the official site.

Not as bad as the old Dragon Age commercials with Marilyn Manson songs. ARE YOU READY FOR THE NEW SHIT!?

Piracy. I expect it to do pretty well, actually.

Really? people expected the first DS to well and for some even crazier reason thought Extraction would do well. Guess we'll find out!

That was when nobody had heard of Dead Space though. I remember reading a quote from the developers back then saying the number of people that had played it was like twice that that bought it. Could be a word of mouth'er.

Yeah, I hate rat in a cage. I do enjoy myself some Siamese Dream though. I even had some Mayonnaise playing at my reception. Billy Corgan's voice is a bit annoying. I heard his new stuff and I wasn't too impressed.

It's definitely up there on the list of songs you turn off immediately upon hearing it.

Yeah it's been killed through time, but I don't think it gets nearly as much play as Teen Spirit.

I'm a fan of the Pumpkins too. I'm not huge on them, but I've enjoyed my share of Pumpkins albums.

Two things I've learned about the Summers, they love their pumpkins and Flyers.

He does have that whiny voice, but I enjoy Tonight, Tonight and "THE KILLER IN MEEEEEEEEEEE IS THE KILLER IN YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"
