Aside from the amazing Shamoozal Radio, do any of you guys listen to Podcasts on a regular basis?

Before I started to do our own Podcast, I listened to a few that I thought might interest me to try and get some ideas. Most of these podcasts were pretty much abominations, but I found a few that I enjoy. Okay, I found like two that I enjoy, and another that I listen to sometimes.

My favorite is Infected by (ex)Tech TV's Martin Sergant. It's a totally geeky show, and some of the jokes are poorly written, but it has some awesome moments where I'm just dying. Usually each episode covers a topic, and then Martin and his two pals usually go kind of crazy during it. It's pretty good stuff (I even worked in a little tribute to it in the last podcast we did, but it fell flat on it's face, ha).

Yesterday I started to listen to 1up.com's 1up Yours podcast. It's a video game podcast from the dudes at (obviously) 1up and EGM. I'd say it's fairly entertaining and they have some funny moments. There are a few absolute big mouths on there that I know I probably wouldn't be able to tolerate in real life, but it's pretty informative and I usually trust the dudes from EGM when it comes to talking games.

I also listen to on occasion IGN's Wii Podcast. Matt Cassamasina isn't the best speaker in the whole world, but I think he does an alright job. I really only listen to these because I tend to agree with Matt's opinion about 98% of the time and he loves Nintendo about as much as I do.

1up Yours is probbaly my favorite podcast, I havent missed an episode in months.

For WoW fans, there's Taverncast, a good roundtable show. I had to stop listening as I cleansed my life of all things WoW-related. But they do a really good job over there.

For a while I listened to Mugglecast, but as the release of the latest book and movie died down, the topics got a bit uninteresting. I really dont care what the kid who plays Ron was seen doing in downtown London 3 saturdays ago.

Major Nelson from Xbox Live's podcast is usually very informative and makes for a great listen. He usually gives straightforward answers about everything thats going on w/ the 360.

Diggnation w/ Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht (the screen savers) is good stuff. Especially if you're like me and visit digg.com several times a day.

And the grand-daddy of them all is This Week in Tech, basically if you loved TechTV and you miss the crew, you should have this show in your Podcast subscriptions. Leo Laporte, Patrick Norton, John C Devorack, Kevin Rose, etc...

i listen to the animation podcast. its run by a guy named clay kaytis who is an animator at disney's. he interviews a bunch of really awesome guys who have had thier hands in several major films, like andreas dejas who is an insanely talented traditional animator at disney's, and glen keane who is known for design and animation on the beast, tarzan, and ariel. really interesting stuff to hear it from the mouths of they guys who actualy drew those scenes:

http://music.aol.com/artists/the-interface

While I was checking out the Jeremy Enigk album stream on the aol music site I noticed a link to this aol-sponsored podcast. I downloaded a couple episodes that featured artists I like and I'm really impressed with the presentation. The enhanced version features chapters that you can jump between. Each episode has several live exclusive performances from the artist and a fairly in-depth interview.

Since most of the podcasts I regularly listen to are gaming/movie/tech related, it was a nice change to get back to music, something I dont really spend as much time obsessing about these days.

Hey Phil, can you make those enhanced podcasts with the chapters? That would make Shamoozal Radio even awesomer than it is.

I love me some Smodcast. That's the Kevin Smith/Scott Mosier podcast. They get pretty sexually descriptive though, if that sort of thing offends you. Which it probably doesn't. So go listen to it already. The harry potter one is especially hilarious.

I'm a fan of the Penny Arcade Podcasts as well as their series of Dungeons and Dragons 4e stuff they did with the Scott Kurtz.

The dungeon and dragons one is hilarious but much like the WoW one mentioned earlier if you don't like DND you're not going to like the podcast.

The actual Penny Arcade podcast is actually really good though, and I find a lot of your complaints about the guys using the F-bomb too much is not an issue during the podcasts, they are really pretty mellow guys who talk about industry stuff while attempting to write that week's comic strip.

http://feeds.penny-arcade.com/padlc

My favourite part of the podcast series is just seeing how much Gabe the artist of their group is responsible for writing the damn thing while Tycho the actual writer seems to just really do the front page news shit.

I listen to ListenUp and Retronauts. Rebel FM http://www.eat-sleep-game.com/news/ is ran by the guys who did 1up FM, back when EGM was still around, and they also bring in former 1up employees and EGM writers to their podcasts as well. The latest episode of Rebel FM is pretty muckin hilarious.

Dude Patrick Klepeck is on ListenUp this week (well from Friday). I don't know if i can listen to this thing... I just can't handle that kid. Every time he speaks all I say in my head is "this dude is the biggest know it all in the world." He also coined the term "meta-part" about two - three weeks ago when talking about the penis scene in GTA. Fucking "meta-part." Are you kidding me? No one called him out on that... META-PART. I'm never using the word meta ever again. EVER.

Part of my Friday night ritual is downloading 1upYours/ListenUp and putting it on when I go to bed. This week i saw he was on it again and didn't even bother downloading it. I can't stand that guy.

Personally I feel like the show took a big nose-dive when Shane left. I'll stick with John Davidson's podcast going forward.

Oh yeah, I've become a big fan of 'No Agenda' with John C Dvorak and Adam Curry.

It's kind of a free-form thing where they just go from topic to topic with no specific theme. These guys are both pros, its tough to sit there and talk intelligently about stuff for long periods of time and these guys do it effortlessly.

I've been listening to the Giant Bombcast while I go to school. It's a fairly popular podcast, not too sure if I like it yet.

Lately for game podcasts I've been listening 'What They Play' and 'IGN's Nintendo Voice Chat'. ListenUp/1up has been on the decline since the whole UGO thing, and Giant Bombcast has some funny moments but they're both too goddamn long anymore. 2-3 hours of a podcast?! jesus christ. This past week's ListenUp was 2 hours and 45 minuts, and the first hour was about Peggle and iPhone games... no thanks.

Unless its E3 week theres not really that much to talk about in any given week.

I listened to some of Gooteck's podcasts they were decent. Then I listened to one of Bunkai's radio shows and that was pretty awful. I guess it wasn't really a podcast that's why. There was no editing or anything and there was no agenda. It was just people calling into a conference call on Skype and talking about random things. However, it was pretty funny when they tricked this noob into playing Justin Wong and he had his ass beat. The guy was cool about it though.
