I loved the episode, except for the stupid 'mystery hair' discovery and interpretation.

Minor nitpick, I really don't like how Ilyn Payne looks. I imagined him to be a formidable dude, not some creepy skeleton.

I was surprised it didn't turn into an awesome lesbian scene. I guess the random butt fucking scene was enough hahaha

Lord Snow
Ned finally arrives at King's Landing, but he's aghast to find out from Robert's advisers that the Crown is deep in debt. Meanwhile, Jon Snow gets off to a rough start with the other recruits at Castle Black, but his commitment impresses Tyrion, who clashes with Benjen over the purpose of the Night's Watch; and Catelyn secretly follows Ned to King's Landing, where she airs her suspicions about the Lannisters to her old friend Petyr Baelish.

If you have any questions about characters or history that's been discussed, I can probably answer them.

I have heard good things about this show, and the fact that this thread is already 5 plus pages, I think I'm gonna start watching it.

Should I read the book before watching the show or should I just watch the show?

I haven't read any of the books, but I'm loving the series so far.

Well, it's really up to you. There's a lot more of the story in the books, obviously, but it's a significant time investment. If you want to just try the series out, I guess you could watch the first season then read the books...I'd still recommend the books though.

I will never read the book after watching the movie again after Shutter Island. I still enjoyed the book but already knowing the ending before reading a book is SOOOOOOO much worse.

I'll try to buy it after I finish my current series. Shouldn't be too long since I've blown through 2 of the three books in like 3 days.

The Hunger Games. My friends wouldn't shut up about it so I started and I'm hooked. I read like 80% of the second one in one sitting this morning. Mind you they are technically "teen" books so the words/spacing are bigger than I'm used to.
