Manhoef really pisses me off sometimes. His standup is fucking terrifying and his TDD was pretty awesome but the second his back touches the ground it's like he's a 14 year old girl fighting.

Zuffa (UFC's parent company) bought strikeforce????

I'm just now seeing this, when did it happen?

It happened on the weekend. For now the 2 companies stay separate. I feel like a merger is immanent, likely after the fighters contracts and SF's contract with Showtime run out. I also feel like Fedor will likely be trying to get out asap (cause of his fucking idiot management team).

Oh and Paul Daley is being a little bitch. He sounds like he's going to back out from his title fight with Diaz. It would basically end his career making decent money cause he'd be stuck with BAMMA and Bellator.

I'm having such a hard time making a pick for Diaz vs Daley. I kind of want to go for Diaz cause I feel like if he scores a TD he will for sure submit Daley. But at the same time Diaz is a cocky SOB with an amazing chin so he may try to bang with Daley, which I think would be a mistake.

Also Melendez is going to cruch Kawajiri. Gil already beat him in a ring and Kawajiri has stated that he has not bothered training in a cage. That is so stupid, a ring fighter transitioning to a cage loses to a cage fighter most of the time even if they do train in a cage.

I'm also very interested in the Mousasi v Jardine fight, I fully expect Moussasi to crush Keith but Keith has been known to win fights where he's expected to be killed.

I guess my picks are:

Nick Diaz (I would LOVE if Daley KOd his smug ass)
Gilbert Melendez (toss up between him and Eddie Alverez for best LW outside of the UFC)
Gegard Mousasi
Shinya Aoki

I don't recognize a single undercard name so guess time

Takaya
Zwicker
Duarte
Matthews
Perez
Song

Paul Daley (just to be different than you Nick, plus I hate Diaz. But he'll probably win)
Gilbert Melendez
Gegard Mousasi
Shinya Aoki

just picked the first names on all these.
Hiroyuki Takaya
Brett Albee
Joe Duarte
Herman Terrado
Rolando Perez
Casey Ryan

Dude that was bullshit. Jardine was out on his feet for 2.5 rounds and they scored it a Majority Draw. Point taken away from Mousasi for an illegal kick (which should have been a warning cause it did 0 damage). Also on top of that I had Mousasi winning round 1, Jardine scored 4 TDs but only landed 1 useless strike from the guard. Mousasi outstruck him like 3-1 and had him rocked for half the round.

Props to Jardine for taking the fight on a weeks notice but Mousasi got robbed.

I just saw the official scorecard for Mousasi vs Jardine and I am stunned.

Judge 1: 9-9, 10-9, 10-9
Judge 2: 8-10, 10-9, 10-9
Judge 3: 9-9, 9-10, 10-9

That idiot scored a round where Jadine mounted no affective offense and was rocked for at LEAST 4/5 minutes 10-9 for Jardine?!?!?!?!?!?

Mousasi got supremely robbed.

yeah man, draws are the worst. but that was just terrible because it wasn't even close to a draw.
Props to Jardine for staying alive and Mousassi not being able to finish him, but he definitely lost.

And I thought Daley looked OK. He hit Diaz with some really good shit but he got rocked and never recovered.
He was flopping all over the place at the end there. I wonder how that would have turned out if he survived that round. I think the ref called it with less than 5 seconds left.

There was exactly 3 seconds left when Big John called it.

Also I loved when they introduced Cecil Peoples as a ref and the fans booed the shit out of him.

Also the ref for Mousasi vs Jardine had the most hilarious facial hair. Also Jardine abused the shit out of those stoppages. He was 100% fine and he took extra time just to catch his breath.

Alistair Overeem (dude wants to shut the haters up and Werdum beat him a few years back)
Josh Barnett (I just really don't like Brett Rogers and I hope Barnett subs him)
KJ Noons
Jeff Monson (that huge anarchist tattooed freak lol)
Valentijn Overeem (may as well pick the 2 bros. look for this one to be over quick Overeem is 29-25 [54 fights] and 3 have made it past the first round. Of those 3 all ended in the second, dude has gone to the judges once in one of those fights where it's 1 10 minute round and 1 5 minute round, that's it!)

Gesias Cavalcante
Magno Almeida
Joe Ray
Mike Bronzoulis
Brian Melancon

I think Werdum might be fucked. the first time he fought Overeem it was what I like to call "Transition Overeem" It was when he was a really really small Heavyweight (this was 06), it was only his third HW fight and he was nowhere near his "Ubereem" size and skill he has today.

Rogers has a lot of power but he really isn't that great of a mixed martial artist. He lost two straight (Fedor and Overeem) and then he won a supremely close decision over some nobody in October. It's been a year since Barnett's last fight and even longer since he's really fought someone grat but when it's hard to bet against a guy who is 29-5 with his five losses coming from Pedro Rizzo (avenged it in 08) PRIDE Cro Cop (x3 [1 of which being an injury]) and PRIDE Big Nog (who he had beaten earlier the same year).

Oldereem is such a puss. He tapped to strikes that weren't even that bad.

Also the reffing was abysmal in that fight, there were so many shots to the back of the head, including right before the stoppage.

Jeff Monson must be retarded. Dude has been getting lit up this whole fight on the feet, he is a BJJ expert and he has made ONE takedown attempt.

This is pathetic.

All three judges score it 30-27 Cormier... No shit.

Doubled Monson's punch count, got 37x the kicks.....

The wrestling coach for American Top Team looked like he couldn't take down my 4 year old cousin.

So far I'm 0/5 (1). The 1 being a no contest for Wilcox and Cavalcante due to an eye poke.

Looks like picking the names I was more familiar with was a mistake.

Noons is getting absolutely demolished.

Masvidal is beating him WAY worse than Diaz did.

I finally got 1 right. Barnett has some solid wrestling and submissions.

The slam in round 1 was awesome and Rogers tried to take him down round two and Barnett just flipped into mount and grabbed an arm triangle.

TERRIBLE fight.

Both fighters should be embarrassed.

Werdum actually had Overeem backing up with strikes a few times.

and Werdum literally fell to the ground every single time he got touched and every time the ref stood him up he would stall so much.

What an embarrassing fucking fight.

I just watched it on mmshare. Yeah, what a letdown. I wanted Overeem to knock him the fuck out.
He didn't really do shit. Werdum actually looked out of shape with how bad he was gassed from trying so many takedowns and pulling guard.

Dude both of them were out of shape. After the fight Overeem was huffing and puffing like he ran a marathon.

Seriously, no one did shit in that fight. Werdum landed more strikes and backed Overeem up a few times but he did not win that fight. More than half of the fight was Werdum on his back and Overeem standing over him telling him to fight.

The part that infuriated me was Werdum's stalling. He purposely took forever to stand up and should have had at least 1 point taken away. It was bordering on a DQ/submission due to cowardice (which has happened before).
