Pretty crazy that the 8th place team in the west tore through the 1st and 2nd place teams and in the east the 1st place team has now gone to 7 games with both the 8th and 7th placed teams.

Yeah it kind of sucks, it would have been cool having a final 4 with 3 teams who have never won the cup and the teams would have had a 8, 6, 3 and 7 ranked teams no 1s. Also that "3" technically has the points to be 6th but Phoenix's division just sucked too hard.

I just realized today that not only do we have the chance to see an 8 knock out 1,2,and 3, but in the east we get the chance to see a 1 knock out 8,7, and 6. Such a weird year in the playoffs.

Man these playoffs have been odd. Did anyone think either of these teams would make it to the final, let alone past the second round?

Also the 8th place Kings seeping the second place Blues and running through the 1st and 3rd place Canucks and Cayotes in 5 games each is crazy.

I have no idea who I'm rooting for going into this, I might have a bit of an edge for the Kings cause an 8th seed has never won a cup. Also are the Kings the second 8th seed to ever make the finals? I know the 05/06 Edmonton Oilers did it but has it ever happened outside of these 2 times?

I'm not supposed to root for the Devils, but outside of Brodeur, who I can't stand, I don't hate that devils team. I wish the Flyers were as successful as they've been, and you can't use the "boring devils hockey" as an excuse anymore, because its not the same as it used to be. I like Parise too. That being said, I'm rooting for the Kings, as long as they petition the league and get Gagne's name on the cup.

I think the Devils win it though.

I can't stand Brodeur because 2 decades of dominance, 3 rings while my team has had a goalie merry go round of garbage and have been losers since 8 years before I was born. Jealousy.

Will Smith, on the NHL Bandwagon, choo choo all abooooard.

Scratch out that LA on Richards shirt and throw a Flyers logo in there, nobody will know the difference.

A couple of big deals the past few days.
Jordan Staal to Carolina to play with 2 of his brothers. I love Staal, but overall it's a good move for both teams, he's too good to be a 3rd line center and the Pens got Sutter, Demoulin, and a decent draft pick while clearing some cap space. Rumor has it Pens are going hard after Parise now.

Flyers trade JVR for Luke Schenn. You flyers fans have any thoughts on that one?

The owners, especially the big boys, are making so much money now, that's the only reason.

I hope VS or someplace starts showing overseas games... I need my hockey dammit!!!

I guess it may finally be time to get into the AHL and start going to Hershey Bears games. You poor bastards don't even have an AHL team in Philly anymore do you?
