Completed Noitu Love for Game Club. Beat it with all three characters, though apparently there is still more yet to be found. Really liked this game a lot!

There is a boss that isn't filled in on the Year Book. I'm assuming if you beat the game on Hard (though it looks like there is a harder than hard mode) he'll unlock.

Hmmm, looks like I've been underachieving in my Noitu Love 2. Game is an amazing value when you consider all the extra characters.

I don't know if this counts, but I got through the Mighty Switch Force free DLC. It was five stages and it took little over an hour and a half to complete them all and do the speed runs on them. Was hoping for some kinda treat once finishing them, but nothing. Oh well! Cool free update.

I grabbed this a few days ago during the Steam sale and tore through it this weekend when I wasn't playing Diablo. It's basically the same premise as Portal, first person puzzle game with a unique hook. Instead of portals, you manipulate color blocks that have different functions to get through the levels. The game runs at a nice pace, never dwelling on one type of puzzle for too long, and changing up the scenery on a few occasions. There are a few types of puzzles that either don't work well because of the viewpoint, or are just extremely touchy due to animation hold ups, but the majority of the game is unaffected. It's got a nice clean look, and a pleasant soundtrack. The story is just placeholder material, only there to fill out the space in between the puzzles. It may as well not exist.

It's not a bad game, but it's short and mostly forgettable. Some clever puzzles and a neat art style can't save it.

I beat Max Payne 3 two nights ago. I liked the story and the gun play and shit but the health was kind of bugging me. I almost wish there was an option to have regenerating health because the way it is now Max is so frail that you are so afraid of getting hit that you stick behind cover. In the later levels I almost never used Shootdodge.

Finished up Diablo 3 on Normal tonight. Not sure if I'm going to go for Nightmare or play more of a different class.

I actually beat this a few nights ago. For as devoid of gameplay as it is, I expected the QTEs to be more insane more often. It was a great looking game, and it had a decent anime story, but it's hard to get into a game where most of the time you are just hitting button prompts as they pop up on the screen. There is regular combat and over the shoulder shooting sequences, so you do get direct control of your character from time to time, but it's still extremely basic. I think the worst bit is that it ends on a cliffhanger and immediately directs you to some DLC to see the final chapter. I'm not paying another 10 bucks on a game that's already massively overpriced. Fuck. That.

Has this hit bomba prices yet? If I didn't get this from work for cheap, I would have been pretty annoyed with this game.

Oh and I played a bit more of El Shaddai. Yeah, that's getting traded in. What a turd. I have too many games in my backlog to waste my time with shit like that.

Art of Balance Touch

Wrapped this up during my lunch. Actually I still have tons left, but I made it through the "main" path of all of the worlds. You're basically just stacking blocks, but it's fun. Probably because I love stacking blocks.

I have since started playing on Nightmare beating the Skeleton King on the next difficulty. Also in the process of playing InFamous 2 and Kid Icarus Uprising again on my 3DS.

Alice is a pretty cool game that doesn't have enough good ideas to keep it going for as long as it wants to. It really really really really really drags towards the end. The combat is fun and responsive, but like everything else in this game, it's underdeveloped. 12-15 hours is way too long for this game to last. ugh. It's a shame too, because the art is really nice. Unfortunately it's another game with a huge art budget and not very much thought put into the design. Because who cares about what you're doing in a game as long as it looks good?

Progear

People swear by this game. It's a Cave shooter published by Capcom and developed for CPS2. I don't think it ever got a console release. Played through it tonight and I certainly enjoyed it a lot, but I guess I don't fully see the appeal. It feels like a Cave shooter, meaning it's pretty awesome, but I don't see what makes Progear special vs something else Cave has done. Maybe that's because as much as I love shooters, I'm just not good at them and don't understand the subtle nuances. Still, it was a short but sweat ride (about 5 stages long).

Lollipop Chainsaw was a blast. Tons of style, a few great bosses, and a combat system that while clunky, can be pretty damn satisfying. I've already started playing it through again, trying to at the least top out the single player leaderboard. It's the most fun I've had playing a Suda game. The humor can be juvenile, but it fits the high school/video game theme. The game is not without issue, load times and instadeath QTEs are terrible, but the good far outweighs the bad.

This game was pretty neat. It's a 3D platformer with some physics manipulation. The game gives you a laser which allows you to slice up parts of the world. You're also given a grappling hook and a rocket that allows you to pull and push objects around.

So good. I totally shit myself on several occasions, and dread was always thick in the air. Amazing atmosphere in this game. Even though the monsters looked dumb, they are dangerous and you can't do anything to fight back. The new one looks even crazier.

That game is a classic, can't wait for the sequel.

Now Phil needs to quit being such a baby and play through it.

I'm sorry, it's boring.
