Apparently there were a few things Cruise didn't like about it. I wonder if PTA changed anything because of that.

See I knew they were buddies and figured this wouldn't be like an attack on the Church. I hope it's not a celebration of it.

I just looked at the wiki of the film, didn't mention the Tom Cruise thing. But it also says that the religion in the film is caled "The Cause" and that the character isn't actually LRH. It's just kind of loosely based on them, so I guess that's how he'll get away with it.

Oh yeah, its not about Scientology. Just draws a lot of information from what scientologists do, specifically Hubbard to start it up.
PTA doesn't deny that and he knew it was getting out to the press that this was the "scientology movie" so thats why he let Cruise take a look for himself.

I might see it. I've seem most MMA movies so far.

Also this is the movie Kevin James used to inspire himself to get in shape which is cool. I've heard Rogan say he can throw a pretty solid punch.

Oh also Bas Rutten is awesome.

yeah that could be cool. however, every trailer is cut the exact same way today. everything fades out to black like 50 times and it always ends with some visual where i'm supposed to go "WHOA!!!" or "wow what's THAT?"

Yeah I've just accepted it. It's the worst. There used to be a time where I loved watching movie trailers before a movie started, now I kind of don't give a damn because they're all almost exactly the same.

yeah the way they're structured is annoying sometimes with the constant fades to black.
but the end with a WOW or What's That is exactly what a trailer is supposed to do. Tryin to get your ass to the theater to find out.

thats the formula producers are told to use. my bet is anyone who strays is smacked down and told to "do it the way the other trailers do it"

So what is the movie trailer responsible for this you think? It's been going on for at least close to a decade now.

idk..hard to say man. but if you look back at 2001..it looks like LOTR came out that year. if I remember the trailer for that was very similar to this format. So LOTR might be the culprit.

That's a good call. I went back a year earlier and picked X-Men. It sorta does it, but it does it's own thing. It's cheesy as hell though.

BTW its weird how this movie looks old now and Hugh looks young as shit.
