ok... so i came home from work today and found half of my cieling on the floor... the fucking thing caved in... well part of it... you can see some splintered wood and the light fixture and a bunch of stuff that looks like dry wall is all over the floor

...fucking a... now i have to get ahold of my landlord and move all of my shit out of that room

yea suing for no reason other than being mildly annoyed is t3h gay...yea it sucks but unless anything is majorly damaged why sue

yeah i wasn't home and it didn't hit my HDTV or computer, so it's all good... as long as he fixes it in a reasonable amount of time

wait...what??? is it something you own? if so, any damages that happen within the confines of the apartment are on you. however, if you're renting, give me that bastards number right now and i'll bitch his face off. if there's something i can't stand its this kind of neglegence. i mean, lets say you left a giant hole in the ceiling when you go to move out. he'll chase you up and down for the money to fix it and not return your security deposit. if the damage is that severe, i'd move out and and say that he is in breach of contract.

im dealing with it with verizon right now and i can't stand how they are constantly passing the buck about the crappy service in my area. you gotta hold these bastards feet to the fire.

its not really a hole. I live on the bottom floor.
There is a drop ceiling with tile, and up above the drop ceiling is the real ceiling/floor of the apt. above me. Some of the plaster (on the real ceiling) cracked and fell down through the drop ceiling. The wood is still up there, but it looks pretty old.

I don't have a lease so i can move anytime i want.
Unfortunately rent is cheap and its in a good area... i'm hoping to stay here until i buy a house which should be sometime in the next 2 years.

I can post some pictures later... right now i'm off to see transformers (incidentally i noticed in blockbuster today that the filter is a real movie)
