I don't think there's ever been a thread for people who play music. Here it is!
Right now I'm playing.. (guitar)

Pork and Beans - Weezer
Human - The Killers
Last Train Home - lostprophets

The latest ones I'm learning.
Megadeth - In My Darkest Hour
All That Remains - Two Weeks

I just learned A Tout Le Monde. I still need to figure out the final solo in Holy Wars The Punishmen Due. I've been meaning to finish learning Focus Shall Not Fail by ATR for a while now but never got around to it. I've only learned up to the first verse.

I play from the Real Book most of the time, a lot of jazz standards, and I've been playing from a Thelonious Monk fake book a lot lately. I also picked up sheet music for a few Beatles tunes.

I'm going to sign up for some guitar lessons. One set for classical guitar, one set for blues and jazz. This should kick up my skills exponentially. I mainly just want to freestyle better. I really have to brush up on my music theory. I've had one lesson already and it's already helped me a lot. Rock over London, rock on Chicago. Wheaties, breakfast of champions.

I was perusing the "guitar lessons" section of on demand, and first thing on the list was a "and justice for all" lesson. Besides the solos, it's really not that hard to play. Definitely check that section out if you get a chance.

I think that's the way it goes for most Metallica songs.
I figured out the intro to And Justice and never bothered to learn the rest of it.

Hello - John Butler Trio

If any of you know the band I'd be surprised actually.
This song is damn hard for me but I have the first part down.

I started taking some classical guitar lessons. I don't have a classical guitar so I have to just fair with my acoustic. But the latest piece the guy gave me was Leo Brouwer - Etudes Simple no. 6

and John Butler Trio rocks, I'm amazed you can play any of his crazy guitar stuff.

I tried a few times and failed.

Where are you taking lessons at? How much? Are they good teachers?

I'm looking to start taking some guitar lessons myself.

The guy I found lives in Cherry Hill. I found him through the internet. He only does lessons on classical guitar though. Just look around, you can find some one. I'm also going to take some lessons from this kid that goes to Rowan.

The Cherry Hill guy charges $40/45 min. lesson. The kid from Rowan charged a little less. Like $25/30 minutes. But these prices are all negotiable.

That's still impressive stuff Powerdusk.

I love his song Trees, he's about the only hippy I can listen to haha. Probably because he's an amazing guitarist.

I'm messin around playing some Killers' songs. It's fun stuff. :)
I'm working on singing and playing guitar at the same time, because I'm not good enough to perform just on guitar (the bar is set very high at my school) so if I can get some singing down it'll make up for my lack of shredding skills.

Our school really is pretty intense as far as guitar players go. I find it strange that there is really only one drummer that I would consider well known in the school for his drumming.

I'm only learning the first half of the song. But it's pretty awesome. I didn't even realize there was more to the song until I found the video. The 2nd part is intense. I love the rapid finger strums.
